Anybody ever been to Turkmenistan? Had a long talk with my uncle yesterday who was there a couple of years ago and it actually sounded rather interesting. Sounded like a rich version of North Korea, with slightly more freedom for tourists.

I'm thinking of travelling the Balkans for around 10 days. Anyone who have been there? What countries did you visit? How much time did you spend? I haven't really chosen some must-sees, but I'm thinking about Serbia as one of the places.

American here, The more I read about russia the more overly complex it sounds. It seems like they have visa system set up to make it more complicated for people from western europe/ the us, it seems to be pretty high when it comes to accommodations. >Anons who have been to russia, how was the process of getting the visa/registering with embassies. And did you feel as though it was overpriced.

I've heard that Americans are considered rockstars in poor countries and I really want to take this to the next level. I just got fired from my job so I plan on selling my car for about 5k and heading flying off to a poor country. I have decent enough vocals and I figure I can hire a band to back me up. I plan on being shamelessly fake about my image and trying to play off the idea that Americans are rebellious badasses that play by their own rules. I've come here to see if any of the travel gurus can offer me advice on which country to select. I don't want to go anywhere dangerous, just somewhere poor with people naive enough to think I am rockstar material. I'm hoping to hook up with a lot of girls and make enough money to at least get trashed and party every night. Basically a place with a low cost of living and a thriving music scene.

Which country that you've traveled to has the best prostitutes? Why do you think this? How much did you pay for her services and what did she do for you? Appreciated, I'm planning a sex holiday with my mates

Hey /trv/lers first time posting here. I'll be going to Hong Kong for 6 days and a day in Macau this September my question is: >Which of the two are cheaper to shop? branded or not. >What are the good places to buy in Macau and Hong Kong? >What are the good buys in Macau and Hong Kong?(e.g. Electronics etc) >Do they sell branded shoes in (Fa Yuen Street) Sneaker Street, and is it much cheaper there than in a retail store/online?

Has anyone else found that their social skills and ability to converse with people have dramatically improved through traveling? Do you feel like you're not the same awkward person that you were before you started?

Hotel / Casino sim game?

9 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hi /trv/, /v/ here. Now, I can't consider myself a gamedev in the slightest, but I thought that a hotel/casino tycoon sim game in the vein of Roller Coaster Tycoon would be a really sweet deal. (Apparently it exists, but google images didn't really do much for it) I used to work as a booking agent in a hotel call center for a ski resort, so I have some knowledge of the logistics of what would be involved, etc. Since this is the travel board, I figured you'd all have a good idea of what encompasses a functioning hotel (dining, recreation, lodging, etc). I know our lodging revenue manager used to dick up the prices as rooms sold out and closer to the date, so I guess I'm looking for reality checks and realism here? Any knowledge of casinos would be a plus as well.

What's a good way to meet girls when you're travelling and don't speak the country's language? Have you tried online dating? Using text can be better to communicate at first if you don't speak her language, a lot of Asian girls for example are learning English and seem to love white guys. I tried this website called thaifriendly and got great results, just ask the girls for their Line (chat app very popular in Asia apparently) and move the convo to there. What I noticed is that, as a white guy it's a lot easier to have success there than on western dating websites, the girls will often message you themselves and you can still find some genuinely interesting quality girls. I'd be interested in knowing if there are similar websites for South America as I think I might be travelling to Colombia also. Share your experiences and tips ITT, which websites are good or to be avoided, which apps are popular, etc. for example is Tinder popular in Asia or South America?
