Hey /trv/ Me and my family are going to Germany in a few weeks and we will be mainly staying in Munich. What is there to visit beside the 6 billion memorial(s)? Would also love to get some recommendations on some must-try local delicacies.

My husband is trying to convince me to move to his home country Israel. He speaks hebrew and english but I only speak english. How easy would it be for an english speaker to assimilate into Israeli society? I know it's very modern and the economy is good there, but my question is about every day life like do they get a lot of american TV shows and movies there? Is it easy to acquire american food? How easy is it for english speakers to communicate with the locals? Tel Aviv is where we plan to move to.

/trv/, what's the best hassle-free place to emigrate to? I've been eyeing Australia, but after some research, it looks like they've got some daunting policies, prices, paperwork hunt and waiting periods for getting a visa. Is it the same everywhere? I'm living in a shit-tier EU country

I am currently in Canada and I am home gym master race. I have been looking at apartments in Bangkok but all the ones with “fitness facilities” are shit tier things with machines. Is it possible to find a good gym there? What are some? Pic not really related but hopefully gets your attention. I actually posted here once before, was recommended California WOW which apparently >was absolute shit >and is now out of business So there's that. pls ehlp

Urbanite stuck out in the country here. Barely have any money to my name and just want to be dependent in a city. Here's my fantasy: >End up in vegas with $1000 >Look around the strip for weekly motels >Check out different motels until I find one I like, it's not perfect. The lady that runs it is nice and we get along. >The motel costs 180/week, and i pay 2 weeks upfront so I'm down to $640. >I stock up the motel fridge with a couple small things lunchables, milk, yogurt, fruit, and I get some cereal. >I buy a bus pass and run around everywhere looking for a job, I see a sign in a restaurant hanging saying "help wanted". I go into the restaurant to apply and they say it's nothing too formal it's just a small gig as a waiter. >Get interview on the spot and they call me 3 days later, tell me I can start on monday. >I pay for another week and after food and everything have about $300 left. >First week at work I make $250. Just enough to cover my rent and food. >Start working more and earning more and slowly start to get better and better. >have $300 in bank left and start to stash away money in my savings while covering my expenses. Too much to ask and am I forced to stay sheltered here?

South Africa/Kuger for a week

Hi /trv/, Planning a weeklong trip to South Africa the 2nd week of may. We really want to visit Kruger Park so we'll rent a car in Johannesburg and drive to Kruger, spend at least 2 days there. Other than that, we're not sure if we'd be better off staying in the Jo/burg region and drive around for the week, or allocate a couple days to visiting Capetown or Durban, given we can fly in and out Jo'burg, Durban or Capetown or a combination of 2. The Kruger's website is kinda pushing you to book safaris with accomodation, while it seems much cheaper to book lodges online by ourselves. Anybody here did book park tickets and accomodation separately? Anyone familiar with SA could advise if flying to either Durban or Capetown is worth it or just a waste of our short time? Thanks all. Pic taken by best bro during his trip to Kruger, but his girl and him are the backpacker kind, we want something a bit more comfy so his help on this matter is limited.

What do you think of this guy?

Hey /trv/, I made this thread a couple of times before. Although some friendly posters helped me keep it bumped for a short while, I wasn't able to post often after my laptop's motherboard got fried. Now that I've bought a new computer, I figure I'll give this another go, despite the fact that /trv/ has way more shit-posters than I remember. So yeah, here I am again: ask a guy who hitchhiked around Iceland and from London to Istanbul before spending three-and-a-half months living in New Delhi anything. I'll post pictures in roughly chronological order, unless anybody has any requests. I can also answer questions about places like Iraqi Kurdistan and Georgia, as I took another long trip last summer, too, mostly to different countries. First pic is from Kashmir - I'll start on Iceland in my next post. > also, fuck Windows 8

Anyone experience with getting a shengen visa directly on arrival at the border? I would like to bring my wife into europe. The normal visa procedure takes 6 months at the consulate. Too long for us. Here's what the law says: >It is possible, exceptionally, to obtain a single-entry Schengen visa valid for up to 15 days on arrival at the border if the individual can prove that he/she was unable to apply for a visa in advance due to time constraints arising out of 'unforeseeable' and 'imperative' reasons as long as he/she fulfils the regular criteria for the issuing of a Schengen visa.[56] However, if the individual requesting a Schengen visa at the border falls within a category of people for which it is necessary to consult one or more of the central authorities of other Schengen States, he/she may only be issued a visa at the border in exceptional cases on humanitarian grounds, on grounds of national interest or on account of international obligations (such as the death or sudden serious illness of a close relative or of another close person).[57] In 2011, over 106,000 Schengen visas were issued to travellers on arrival at the border.[58] What do you think?

Travelling Alone

Hey /trv/, What are your thoughts on travelling alone? I recently acquired about $50grand CAD, and want to drop $10-$15 on travelling Europe. I'm from Canada, and I have a sister who lives in London England. I have no one to travel with, because my friends all have real jobs or school. Is travelling alone a lonely experience? What is some advice for travelling alone?
