When you go work in another country, what do you do for accommodation, I'm assuming hostel for the start but what if you're there for a few months? Do you just stick it out in a hostel or what? I'm going to work in Canada so please share advice, stories, etc.

Hey /trv/ I'm asking for your help! My sister is moving to work in Toronto, Canada for an 8 month period in January. I was hoping to provide a bucket list of places to hit in her Christmas card. Those of you who have visited or live in Toronto, Canada what are the lesser known, but must hit areas and events in T.O/GTA?

America to Cuba

I was pretty excited once I heard the news about improved relations between the US and Cuba. So when do you guys think we Americans will be allowed to go to Cuba? In a year? Six months? We probably won't be able to fly out straight from here any time soon, I think. Also, share any travel tips or stories from Cuba.

Shit countries.

By March I will have 4000 dollars saved and couple of months to get some wild new experiences. Now I am trying to figure out where to travel. Not gonna lie, I am not intrested in historical places, spiritual growth and other stuff many travel for. I am much more interested in drugs and sex. So I am thinking about either spending a month in Thailand having orgies with go-go girls regulary or spending 10 days in Amsterdam doing you know what. Have you guys been on this "Hedonistic" type of trip before? How was your experience and do you have any advice for me. How to avoid getting robbed, where to get the girls and so on.

I'm 21yo and I'm going to finish my undergrad in about 6 months and I'm really keen to take a year off to go live somewhere in Latin America and teach TEFL if I can. I'm ausfag and unfortunately I don't know enough about Latinoamerica to make an informed decision for where I might want to go so I'm relatively open minded about any of the countries at this stage. There are a few things I'm interested in learning at this stage: Is it easier to do TEFL in certain countries? For instance I don't want to end up in Buenos Aires if it is very difficult to get a job teaching at a school or something. Are there any places/regions I should avoid for safety regions? This is more of a vein aesthetic point but simply put I don't find Mestizos or Amerindians attractive at all. So I'm not really keen on Mexico for example since that country is like 90% Mestizo. What I want to know is if anyone can tell me which countries have larger White or Negro populations rather than Mestizo? I'm white myself so I'd also like to know which locations are more amenable to white blokes? Can anyone impart knowledge on decent locations that aren't really massive western travel destinations? Climate/weather isn't really an issue I care too much about, but nonetheless what are the more temperate locations in the region? Is TEFL more commonly done in major urban centers or more rural locations? How difficult is it to pickup local girls when you can't speak the language? My Spanish is very basic and I'm only really able to have the most basic of conversations. This will obviously very on a country-by-country basis, but broadly is it possible to get visas to visit and teach TEFL for the period of time that I want too? And finally does anyone know what sort of qualifications are useful for TEFL? My undergrad is a Law/PoliSci degree so would I be expected to have any additional TEFL qualifications? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with some of the questions I have.

Trip Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-Vienna-Budapest

I'm planning going alone in my first trip to Europe next april for around 20 days and was looking for some recommendations: 1) What pocket WIFI service is good to use in Europe (and in those countries)? 2) Places I should absolutely must see? 3) I assume those cities are pretty safe, but anyway what places I should avoid? 4) Interested in events & concerts (classical, rock, etc), in that time of the year is there something that should be aware? 5) Since don't know about foods or drinks and don't want to go to McDonalds, what should I taste? (if you can appoint some places too I would be very grateful too) 6) Thanks for advance

Sup /trv/, Any Dutchfags or recent Amsterdam visitors on? I'm in London on vacation with my family, and an old coworker of my dad's who lives in the Netherlands now suggested we should take the Eurostar over and check it out. I'm interested, but I've got some questions I'd like to bounce off guys like you first. 1. Am I an uncultured Americlap swine for being more interested in going to get fucked up in Amsterdam than doing the traditional/historical tourist shit in London? 2. Is Amsterdam even a ridiculous party destination paradise anymore? I remember reading a while back that the government in Amsterdam was trying to eliminate drug tourism by restricting "coffee shop" usage to Dutch citizens. I've been trying to figure out what the exact laws are, but haven't found a hard answer as of yet.

Visiting Beijing for a few days to see a concert and bum around. Where are the best places to eat (real)street food and where are good hostels with female dorms? I have done all the tourist shit so that doesn't matter to me. Also visiting Shanghai this weekend. Where is good for street food? In general I have an iron stomach and I like to eat street meat. I speak and read Chinese so communication isn't a problem unless some taxi driver is yelling hardcore in fucking beijing hua. Pic related, gonna see em in a few days

Cross-Country Moving

6 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hi /trv/ I'm planning on moving across country after the holidays end, from the west coast to the east. I'm planning on already selling a majority of my things and I have about one or two boxes remaining of things I want to hold on to. I've already bought a one-way ticket, my concern is what is the best way to get the rest of my things from point A to point B? Is it best to have FedEx pack and ship my boxes or would it be cheaper to hire some sort of moving company? Anyone with cross country moving experience have any advice? Thanks for your time.
