I'm from Argentina, I'm going to be there for the first time in a few days next month and would like to buy some nice clothes for me (a 30 years tall man a bit fat/robust)... I don't know, Tshits, shirts, cargo pants, jackets, etc Not sport or too formal clothes. Where to go in those cities? What clothing brands recommend?

ITT: God-tier travel literature. This is amazing. Paul Theroux (Louis Theroux's dad) went by train from London to Japan via India and SEA, then back through Russia, on his own, in the 1970s. But as with all good travel literature, it's not just the journey that makes it interesting, it's that he's an amazing writer (his description of his feeling guilty about travelling aimlessly hit me right in the feels. He says he was "nagged by the seamless guilt of the unemployed man, who moves from failure to failure"- anyone who's been unemployed will understand this). I must read more of his stuff. What's your favourite travel literature, /trv/?

Is there any english speaking country/region where people have a similar accent to americans? I'd like to live for a year or so in a foreign country to practice my english but I don't like the US and I dislike British accent. How's Irish accent?

Hello there gentleman, I am wondering if any of you have experience working jobs overseas, I'm not talking shitty farmhand or bartender jobs, I mean legitimate career-like jobs. I am a 23 y/o engineer with experience working in power plants(in the US) and want to move to the England for a few years. Can anyone tell me the usual process of getting a job and living? Like visas etcetera, most webpages aren't first hand accounts.

Thinking about stopping in Kiev for a week or two on my trip across Europe. Worthwhile? I'll be with my friend. It seems affordable. How are the grills?

Guys I'm having trouble learning a 2nd language, Italian. I'm really early on in my learning, and I'm having a lot of trouble remembering various verb conjunctions, grammer and being able to quickly answer to my teacher (in italian). Basically it takes my brain like 30 seconds to even put together the most basic of setences and my teacher is putting it down to me not revising enough. So basically I'm asking you guys how do you revise a second language? What exercises do you do with yourself? I use duo lingo but I know that just isn't enough.

Did travelling "change you"? I have never travelled, but I hear this a lot from people who travel.

This worked great in the Thailand thread so I figured I'd play a game with you folks Rules: 1) No reverse image search 2) One location per post 3) Thailand photos ONLY 4) Must give a little background if it's not an obvious photo #1 is extremely easy First day in Thailand, our host family recommended we go here. I should have been suspicious of their advice when they told us to only eat "safe foods" such as McDonalds or Burger King (I'm not kidding). Anyways, they suggested "a must-see" in the city and we went. Tourist hell awaited us in our naivite. >implying those are my pants

Do you take more videos or photos when you travel overseas?

I want to move to france eventually but I don't speak french and all of these part time/seasonal jobs suggested don't seem sustainable if I were to make up a french CV and send it to a load of places I'd usually apply for jobs at, mentioning that my french is currently poor but that I can do XYZ am I likely to get any responses realistically? has anyone ever done anything similar? I want to make sure I don't end up homeless

Thinking of doing a solo trip to Istanbul, Turkey and Sofia, Bulgaria. I know tons of people who have been to (and a few who are from) Istanbul, so I'm set with that, but anyone been to Sofia? Is it easy to get around without knowing a word of Bulgarian and not being able to phonetically pronounce Cyrillic?

So I'm going on a roadtrip with my buddy next weekend and one of our stops is Ann Arbor Michigan. We're debating doing the extra hour on the road to go to Windsor, Ontario. Any Canada bros on? Is Windsor worth it? We've both never been to Canada and we have our passports/passport ID cards updated, so we're kind of on the fence about adding it onto our Tl;dr Is it worth driving out of our way (through Detroit) to go to Windsor, Ontario?

Hey /trv/ I want to study in Scotland next year. I want to major in english and literature. I have german citizenship so I know I may be able to study for free, right? What are the really good universities there? Anyone else studying and/or living in Scotland? Is it posible to work and study? Because when I was applying for the US I couldn't work and I don't know much about how Scotland handles that. Any bit of advice is useful.
