Hi, I'm interested in leaving my unfufilling job here in New England and moving to Germany. Preferably Frankfurt, Hamberg or Munich. I have a Masters Degree in Education, no TESL certificate and I used to be a Navy SEAL for five years. I'm a 32 year old male. I've spent over two months in country over the course of two separate trips but do not speak the language enough to converse fluidly. I want to learn though, a huge reason I want to move there. I would really appreciate any advice or wisdom. Thank you guys

Public transportation with weed

Sorry if this is the wrong board, but all other ones didn't respond, at least the ones I've tried. So, /trv/, how do you hide your weed when you travel? I've got about half a bowl for a one hitter that I want to take on a greyhound bus I have soon. What have you guys done that works at passing security, with or without drug dogs? Im thinking to put mine in an opaque water bottle and tape it to the inside of the lid, so that it cant be seen; I could just drink out of it and have it be inconspicuous. Once again, I'm sorry if this is the wrong board for this.

Festivals

Hey guys, i'm travelling through USA and South America from July till December. Are there many music festivals on around that time? Mainly looking for EDM festivals or anything similar. Big, small, bushdoofs, hippy, whatever. I've been to Tomorrowland (belgium) and loved it. I'm travelling both coasts of USA and all over South America so location isn't an issue, nor expenses. I have tried google but its not turning up with very much, a lot of strange pumpkin festivals and things. I find that word of mouth is very effective with these types of things.

/trv/ I'm a 26 year old NEET Australian and have just received about 116 thousand dollars AUD from inheritance of my late father. I also have a disease that affects my balance, it's called Spinocerebellar ataxia (type 3), I got it from my father. Here is a link if you want to read up on it http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/spinocerebellar-ataxia-type-3 The symptoms I'm experiencing now are terrible balance, I stumble and have to grab hold of things around me to steady myself, even when standing still, I'll sometimes tilt back of forward and have to readjust my footing. I've had some terrible scares walking down stairs where I've fell forward, and I've had to jump down feet first and have luckily landed on another lower stair. It scares the fuck out of me. I have to hold onto the rail at all times. It's just going to get worse with each passing day, there is no cure. I try to not think about it but whenever I do I nearly start crying, every time someone brings up the fact that I'm just wasting my life sitting in my room all day, when I have this clock counting down I feel like breaking down. I am booked in to for counseling, I have to wait 6 months for it. Fuck, I've written all this shit but the point of this thread is to ask where I could travel/what I should be doing with myself, I honestly have no idea. I traveled to Europe a few years ago, alone, it was okay. But having no one to share the experience with sucked, tfwnogf. I'm a 25 year old dude and I've never been in a irl relationship, I've missed out on so much, do you have any advice for me? What would you do if you were in this situation?

My friend and I are going on a trip around Europe. We plan to visit Germany for several weeks, Amsterdam for one, Madrid for one, Italy for one and Greece for one, then back to Germany for a few days to wait for a flight. When I was last in Germany visiting family I found a cheap prepaid provider called blau.de. What should I look for when I'm travelling to other EU countries as well? Are there any EU-wide SIM cards?

Anyone been to Nepal??

Hey guys, I'm going to Nepal for a couple of weeks in the end of September. So far all I've seen is basically info on the touristy areas, and the rest is either trekking or extreme sports. My partner is buddhist and I'm a bit of a yoga fanatic (yes, we're white AF), and I was hoping someone would have some ideas off the beaten track, which would be welcoming of friendly but non-nepali speaking travellers. Anyone willing to give ideas or advice get all the hippie rainbow loves sent their way.

Is Budapest affordable? I mean, it's so close to Vienna that I have my doubts. Yet Hungary as a whole has an average monthly wage of €503, while Austria's average is €2124. Can anyone familiar with the place give me a rundown?

I have 10ish days to go on vacation this January and I am toying with the Idea of Malaysia. I normally travel with my wife, however she cant travel during January so I am going to a country that is lower on my list of countries to visit. >Is Kuala Lumpur, worth devoting alot of time to? >Thinking about Taman Negara for 2 nights, is this enough time >Finally going to spend a night or two at the beach. I am thinking 2 nights in KL, 2 nights in Taman Negara, 2 nights at the ocean then 1 or 2 more nights in KL does this sound like a good plan for 10 or so days?

Visit Ukraine thread!

Visit Ukraine thread! Hello fellows! It is summer soon which means that you can travel around. Where to go and how to spend your vacation? Or, if you don't work, what fun can you do this summer? I strongly suggest you to visit Ukraine. I will post here the reasons why should you go there. I was Ukraine in winter 2014-2015, in Crimea in summer 2014, in Russia (all my life) so I know what I am talking about. Pro-tips on how to get a Ukrainian gf included below. You can also go to this website to read some more: http://ua-travelling.com/en/ Here are 7 reasons why you should go to Ukraine now/this summer/this autumn/this winter: 1) Ukraine is cheap. All post soviet countries are cheap, that is no surprise. Russia is cheap too (however, some big cities like Moscow or Saint-Petersburg are overpriced though). But Ukraine is cheap everywhere, even in Kyev. You can see yourself: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Russia&country2=Ukraine&city1=Moscow&city2=Kiev Consumer Prices in Kiev are 43.58% lower than in Moscow Consumer Prices Including Rent in Kiev are 55.10% lower than in Moscow Rent Prices in Kiev are 70.47% lower than in Moscow Restaurant Prices in Kiev are 57.58% lower than in Moscow Groceries Prices in Kiev are 38.37% lower than in Moscow This difference is even WAY higher if you come from Germany/Sweden/France etc. You can get a fucking cheap ticket from Lviv to Kiev by train, it will take 1 night for the trip and cost you 100-200 UAH which is 7 EUR. Just fucking 7 EUR for a fucking train trip which will take 7-8 hours.

Hey /trv/, I'll be in Southern China this September, then have a month to kill before I head to Japan for the winter. Any ideas on where I should go? My original plan was to visit Malaysia. But I really wanted to check out Sabah and it sounds like that area and its people will still be affected by the recent earthquake. Myanmar seems cool, but maybe expensive? I don't know, I'm trying to keep costs low. Any advice is appreciated so, alternative SEA thread i guess?

So how can an American go to Cuba without getting arrested? Could you apply for a passport renewal and use the old one when you go and the new one upon return? Could you just tear the page out of your passport?
