/trv/, What would you do if given $10,000 to travel however you like? I ask as I am now in that position. I have a budget of $10,000 to use within the next year. This is not money that I can just cash in, it must be used for an extraordinary holiday. I'm currently drafting an epic odyssey for any given amount of time somewhere, roughly between June and September next year. I'm considering Ghana as one destination but the focus of my interest lies in the Americas - North Central and South with a stop over in East/SE Asia. Any suggestions, or your own 10k dream trip ideas are welcome.

Hello, /trv/. First time posting here, so sorry if this is a common thread. Let's discuss our experiences in airports. Share tips, criticisms, stories etc. I leave tomorrow morning to fly from Dublin Airport in Ireland to Dubai International Airport and finally into Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International which I hear is one of the worst airports/terminals in Asia and the world as a whole.

Hi /trv/. I'm planning on visiting the USA this year, NY/Mass/that area in particular. I (clearly) haven't planned it at all yet as I'm not sure how viable it will be - the cost of the flights there and back will be covered, I'm just wondering how much money I'd need to survive there for two weeks. NY is an expensive place from what I've heard, would $1000 be enough for the fortnight?

New Years in Kyoto

Another Japan thread I know. Blah blah blah. Here's what you need to know: Almost fluent Japanese speaker Going to Kyoto over New Years holidays. I got everything booked and I have a few places I want to go to. I've been there before but that was like 8 years ago or something. This time in addition to the usual touristy stuff I want to party. I like literally want to go to a club or bar or something and hang out. I don't usually go to such places but why the fuck not I say. So has anyone ever been to Kyoto during New Years? Where do you recommend to go to have fun? I don't dance I just want to meet people and drink basically. Also, safety wise I'm a girl.
