I have 7 days free this coming December, and would like to travel to Europe. I may be traveling alone, or I might be going with a friend. Anyways, I've heard Prague is a pretty good place to go, but I don't know much about it. The only things I've heard is that there is some cool castles, a KGB museum, QTs, and food. But what does Prague offer that I couldn't find in Germany or Holland? The 3 options on the table is Amsterdam, Berlin, or Prague. Trying to do some research on each. And figured /trv/ would be able to help.

NYC, travelling alone

Hey there /trv/, first time posting here. I want to visit NYC, perhaps in December, after a big exam I have, and because it's a big passion/dream to visit NYC. I've already been there 3 days (arrived on 1st, left on 3rd, so mostly 2 days of walking/visiting), but I saw only the "big things". The 'problem' here is, I want to visit it alone. Is NYC a "solo tourist"-friendly kind of city, or is it best to visit with friends? What stuff can I do by myself there? Is December a bad time to visit alone? Thanks.

Going to Niagara/Toronto for a few days next week. It'll be my first time in Canada. Any suggestions on what to see in both places, but more so Toronto? I was looking at the Toronto CityPass, which gets you into the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, Zoo and Science Center for like $50. Seems like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts? Also how's getting around the city? Is the Metro good?

Post Travel Procrastination and Depression

How do you do it, /trv/? I just got back from a 2 month trip, great experience, and I was at my most productive, working and going places, doing things everyday. Waking up at 7 and 6am literally every morning fresh and ready to go (I am never like this) I just got home and I can't get out of bed before 12pm, this always happens. I'm depressed because I want to go back and I can't do anything and I fucking browse 4chan but I can't leave due to obligations. How the FUCK do you do it?

Sup /trv/, come September I am going to be studying in Glasgow University for my Erasmus. I plan on staying the full academic year and possibly also the summer if I can land a job. I would like to ask a few questions to people that live/have lived there: >What is a good district for living as a student? I hear the West End is the place, but the rent there is quite high, so I was wondering if maybe there are other options >What websites should I use to look for a room in a student flatshare besides gumtree? >What are your favourite things about the city? And the worst? >How is the nightlife, and where can I get the best deep fried heroin? General tips and tricks also appreciated I guess

you always hear how people in cities are rude or mean, and everybody is trying to sell you something. What major city in the world has the most genuinely nice and friendly people? That will even smile and talk to you on the street without trying to scam you?

>Travel alone for first time >Spent 8 weeks in Thailand >Spoke to a few people sat in bars, hostels etc >Never progressed beyond smalltalk >No one asked me to do shit with them >Didn't make any friends >Basically spent the entire 2 months doing everything alone It's so easy to make friends on the road, they said. It doesn't matter how shy you are, when you go travelling you meet people with ease! Yeah right. I enjoyed myself but the loneliness ruined it really. Oh well, least I tried

New York, New York

Checked the catalog, didn't see anything. I'm going to New York next week and I'm open to suggestions on what to do. I'm staying at a hotel near Central Park. Things I'm definitely going to do: >Ray's Pizza (maybe all of them) >Ground Zero >an opera at The Met >beat up a homeless guy Things I have zero interest in doing: >Statue of Liberty >Empire State Building >Broadway musicals >bar crawling/clubbing >Queens >Times Square What would you do if you were going to New York? Would China Town be worth checking out there, or do all China Towns have the same stuff pretty much? Any cool independent bookstores, maybe? Areas I should avoid?

Has anyone here ever visited Auschwitz? I'm thinking about visiting in a few weeks time and would like to hear what it's like. Also is getting there easy and do you have to book onto a tour? Google is giving me contradictory answers

hello, I am planning to travel across Canada via horseback some time soon. I have had lots of experience trail riding horses, but that is not the issue. the problem is that I don't have a any experience traveling outside of an airplane. I also live in a town where almost no one travels by foot, and the only person I know who has that kind of experience on horseback is a guy named "outlaw" and he is harder to find than a needle in a haystack. if some people can leave some tips, that would be great, and 4chan, if I am in the wrong thread, don't ban me please, just tell me, it has been a while since I have been on here and I am a bit rusty on the terms, thanks.

Going to be spending a week in San Fran with my grandfather in a few days, any must see/do things there? Planning on going to alcatraz, and our hotel is right next to fisherman's wharf. I'm interested in cool music stores/arcades, if there's any of those.
