Hey /trv/ planning my first trip abroad for spring and was wondering what your oponions are on hostel dorms set ups. Do you prefer mixed or private dorms? 2-12 people dormitories?

Rome, Tufello

Fellow italians, Can any of you tell me some stuff about the neighbourhood Tufello in Rome? Is it dangerous? Is it expensive? Will I get stabbed if I go home late? I'm going to live in Rome and I found a good room there.

Stunning places to visit for couples?

Need some ideas of places to take my gf on holiday (We're britfags for reference). Preferably with some amazing scenery or culture, and fewer tourists? She's got relatives out in New Zealand and I've got some out in Canada so, bonus points for cool places in either of those (Yes I know they're big)

Hey /trv/, I'm visiting Poland soon. I'm going alone (This is the first time I've ever traveled solo) and I was wondering if any of you could recommend something decent to do or see in either Wroclaw or Warsaw?

Me and a friend want to meet up in Vancouver, or somewhere nearby in BC if its cheaper. They're from the US, taking advantage of the weak Canadian dollar for a trip. I'm from further up in BC, rural shithole. They want the stay to be at least 2 weeks long, at the minimum, flexible. No set dates yet, just sometime in 2016. How would you guys recommend finding a place to stay for that long for the two of us without paying out the ass for a decent hotel room? They want to pay for the room, I just think we can find a better deal than that. Should we look into renting an apartment for one month, etc? I almost feel like that would be cheaper. Also, we gon fuck a lot so privacy would be preferred. No shared hostels or what have you.

Do you think five and a half hours is enough time to leave Sciphol International, see some of Amsterdam, and return for an international, non-Schengen Area flight? I'm flying from Chicago to Amsterdam and then Amsterdam to New Delhi. I'll be arriving at AMS around 7:15am and leaving again at 12:45pm. I've passed through AMS quite a few times but have never had the chance to see the city. I won't have checked bags and am a US citizen, so visas aren't necessary. Does this sound workable? >deboard, pass through customs (~45 minutes) >purchase ticket and take train to Amsterdam (~30 minutes) >explore central part of the city (~1-2 hours to be on the safe side) >purchase ticket and take train to AMS (~30 minutes) >pass through security (~20 minutes) I wouldn't get to see a lot but I've been to Schiphol plenty of times and would like to escape the airport for a change.

New Years ideas in Northern California

My girlfriend recently moved to California for her job for a little while and we're doing the LDR thing for a bit. I'll be flying to visit her next week and we'll be spending New Years together. He lives in the Bay Area and I want to do some stuff with her during that time but neither of us know anything about the area or things to do. Any Norcalfags have some good places and things to do?

So I plan on moving about 1,300 miles from my hometown to Colorado Springs in a month. However I've lived here for over 1/2 of my life (I'm 20) and I'm kind of nervous to be honest. >Moving by myself >Hometown is a backwoods town in WV >Not many friends, main reason for the move is to broaden my horizons and hopefully find a good job >Want to bring one of my friends along, but don't want to ruin the life they have here and haven't even asked them yet >Am nervous about not having enough money for the move and finding an apartment will be hard >Am worried living in the 'Big City' will be much more challenging than I think it is Who else has went through this? How did you start out? How did you start meeting people?

Best European country to study abroad for Southern American? I'm really into outdoors and reading. I'd prefer the demographic to be reflective of the country. I want it to be a chilly climate and to have a fun night life as well. I'm currently thinking Switzerland, Austria and I would like maybe Norway or Finland but it seems expensive. Can you guys help me out please?

I'm going to Helsinki alone in January. I've heard a lot from people who think that Finnish sauna is great. Is it something I should do on a solo trip?

American Studying in Germany

I do not know any German and my parents want me to study in Germany because its cheap (this idea is being pushed by monetary reasons). Does anyone have any sort of advice, experience, or knowledge with this?

Do you come from a well traveled family or do you find yourself at odds with your relatives over this? Much of my family has never left the state and seems to think it is a waste of time and inherently dangerous regardless of the destination (how do airplanes work?). How do you reconcile this?

Where is a good destination to go if your girlfriend of 3 years just left you for some douchebag and you need to escape this hell for a month or two?
