So, I know this is a long shot but I guess it's worth a try
Does anyone here know anything about getting entry level jobs in GIS, remote sensing, or geosciences in general abroad?
I've found some cool postings to places like austria, tajikistan, etc but they are all like 5-10 years old.
If nothing else, this can be an after-college working abroad discussion.
like I said, I'm not expecting much but what the hell.
Moving to Nagoya, Japan

I'm moving from Canada to Nagoya, Japan for 6 or 7 months to intern at an architecture office. Anyone have experience with the city itself? From what I've read, it's not the most interesting place in Japan, so I'm hoping that someone on here will at least know of good neighbourhoods/districts to live, go out, etc.
Entry Requirements for Japan

So, I'm a Canadian guy planning on traveling to Japan for about 5 weeks next summer, and although I know I don't need to apply for a visa, I still have a couple questions.
Some sites say that I need a Proof of Sufficient funds, and Proof of Accommodations. Now, I don't have tons of money, but I have enough, I think ($2500 + credit to pick up the slack). I don't plan on making any reservations for hostels, since I don't want to plan this trip too much, just kinda going from city to city as I feel like it.
My question is, will they give me trouble for this? Should I have more money in a statement, and do I have to have accommodations planned for the entire trip?
Any advice or past experiences with traveling to Japan low-budget like this are appreciated too. Thanks in advance.
