What country/region would you argue has the best indigenous music? Post examples! I'm a big fan of 'desert blues' from west Africa; best stuff seems to come out of Mali and Mauritania. http://www.voanews.com/MediaAssets2/projects/african_music_treasures_blog/hammadi.mp3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePM9397Irks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4-uq8cTF7o

Teaching English in South Korea.

3 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hello all! I've done some research online, and it seems that South Korea is the best place to get your first job teaching English. I want to save up as much money as possible while I'm teaching so my question is, where/how should I apply to get the best paying jobs I'm qualified for. (First time teacher, BA, no experience, TEFL certified etc). So, any good insider info on agencies, websites, or schools, that you can personally recommend/had experience with where they pay for flights and housing, and the salary is really decent?

Hello /trv/, i have a small question. Could i book arrive/return tickets for 2 persons where the second person only takes the return flight? It is cheaper than buying the person a single ticket for travelling back. Example: A flying from X to Y without B A returning together with B to X.

Mt Rushmore

Greetings /trv , I am a /b/tard who occasionally ventures into /ck. Anyway. I want to visit Mt. Rushmore this summer as a celebration of whether or not I make it into grad school. Tips and other info about going there? I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and am thinking about going with my friend who is from Indianapolis. We'd probably prefer fly there. I've never planned a trip by myself before. I've been on short study-abroad trips (2 trips, two weeks each) but it's not like I was the one finding food, shelter, or transportation plans.

What am I missing from my pnw road trip. Is there a better way across Idaho? Which cities are worth visiting? Should I go further south to include Utah/Colorado? I plan on doing California in a different trip. Any other parks of interest?

Hey /trv/, I made an India general a few months back that did pretty well. Now that I've just come back from several months in the Subcontinent, I've decided to use some of my free time to answer what questions I can and continue dwelling in the past. I won't pretend to be an all-around expert on every region, but, having worked in tourism and lived in Delhi, I do have an idea of what I'm talking about. Stupid questions and troll replies will happily be ignored. Just to get this one out of the way: >are Indian girls easy? Some are, some aren't. If you're planning to just bounce around from city to city, stay in hotels, and do the normal tourist thing, you'll probably get laid about as much as the average foreign traveler, which is, so far as I can tell, not at all. Questions about dating and social customs are welcome, but I don't want to have a thread about sex. Save that shit for the Thailand generals, please.

Helsinki Funland

I'll be doing a generic 2 month trip in Europe this summer. I ended up buying a plane ticket into Helsinki because it was cheapest I could find. Figured why not, I'll probably never see it any other time in my life, plus "muh heritage" being that I have half Finnish blood. Had a couple questions that I was hoping some locals or /trv/lers could help me with. How many days should I spend there? Is it as boring as people say it is? Is it worth exploring in depth or should I just spend a day there sleeping off the jet lag and move on? The hostel selection looks pretty dismal in the city and that can usually be an indication of how interesting a place is for travelers. What are the cool museums or sights to see? Any good bars or places with night life? What's the weather like in early June? What are the best ferry services to take to get to Tallinn? Thanks for help!

Ok, so I live in the very tip of SW Missouri, near Cassville. I plan on going down to Rockwall TX (gonna grab dem magic stones), then drive down to Glen Rose (gonna see dem dino footprints) then go down to Corpus Christi (gonna get dem san pedro islands), then head up through Houston (gonna get some of dem Kristina Bocarams melons), the go up the Shreveport LA (gonna get me dem gumbos), then I'm gonna go up through Arkansas (gonna get me dem diamonds and bigfoot), then I'm gonna go on home (gonna get me dem sleeps). I'm going to have 10 days off and could make the whole trip in about 4-5 days comfortably, but I'd like to use up a bunch of that time having fun, I don't drink and I don't really do drugs, so I ain't clubbing and I plan to do this some time in the summer when the bikinis are out and the rowdy teens are back in school so I don't have to mess with a bunch of drunk idiots. What are some neato places along the way, btw I am a native Texan and this is part of my great texas pilgrimage before I die, I will be traveling by myself.

Traveling alone for the first time.

hi /trv/ sometime in April I plan on going to Toronto for 2 days. Most likely i'll be going alone. I'm a little hesitant because I've never traveled alone before especially to another country. So my question to experienced travelers, what advice can you provide for someone traveling alone for the first time?

A two roommates and I are going on a two month motorcycle trip this summer, NYC to Portland Oregon on 80% dirt roads/trails. We're planning on moto-vlogging the whole thing with GoPros and recording our helmet communicators. We're trying to work out the logistics of keeping our electronics charged while camping most nights. We'll be in/around towns just about every day, but maybe only long enough to get lunch and gas. Our bikes have USB chargers wired in but those are mostly just to keep the phones charged while riding, using them over night will drain our batteries. Any recommendations on how to keep all this shit charged all day every day? >three gopros >three gopro remotes (maybe) >three bluetooth intercomms >one gopro intercom bacpac >three smartphones >three laptops

I feel like getting away for a few days, maybe even a week. I decided I'll go to Amsterdam. Convince me what there is in Amsterdam which is good for a tourist without saying the canals, weed or hookers.

Romania road trip

I am going to be taking a road trip from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest. Which cities are worth visiting between these two destinations? I'm going to start my trip in Budapest, and will take a bus to pass through Satu Mare (to visit some family) and to Cluj, where I will be renting a car for the road trip. Also, any general tips for traveling by car through Romania?

After taking a year out of college to work and make money for the summer, me and a few friends are hopefully driving through Europe on what will amount to almost a month holiday in total. I'll post the rough route and everything below. I'm just curious, since I've only just discovered this board, if there is anywhere you have been that you would recommend or not recommend through experience.
