I'd to hear differing opinions from people that have been to both countries.
Would like to know which country is easier to meet women, which country is easier to teach English without a degree, what is the difference between the culture and people of both countries, etc.
I've heard Thailand is advanced. They have good healthcare for Southeast Asia, advanced transportation (Vietnam has no metro), food is better, Thai girls are easier etc. Can anyone concur.

>go to Midwest, 'Murica
>speak English with slight accent
>be white, caucasian, European
"You're not from around here right" in a curious voice, in every fucking store and restaurant after I say one god damn word
How do they tell? Mind you, this never happened in California or New York.

What has been the most mind-blowing city for you fellow travellers?
I'll start. I'm from a small nordic country that borders Russia and while I've lived in a ``city'' whole my life, I knew not what to expect when I set my foot in Beijing.
The scale of that place blew my mind. Highways stacking on top of each other in the middle of the city, skyscrapers on the horizon literally as far as you can see (the smog limits the visibility a lot), the chaos that is traffic. Metro was as packed as I had seen in those Japanese videos.
Went to a beer festival with a colleague and the venue was the atrium of an absolutely huge commercial building still in construction in Sanlitun. The area of Sanlitun when the sun had set was pretty interesting...
Gosh darn it was huge. I've been to New York and London, and while they do reign in the richness of culture (tho I'm biased since I don't speak Chinese), they pale in scale.
It's the closest thing to a real life ``Blade Runner city'' I've ever seen.

I'm 23 from Sydney, Australia. I going to Vegas in August to see vans warped tour. I really want to visit some other states while I am there! Flights are cheap enough anyway.
I was hoping I could get some first hand advice on here about where to go/where to avoid? It's hard to find reviews that aren't based on night life only. I was thinking of travelling in this order: Texas > Arizona > Vegas for warped tour > Portland, Oregon (got some senpai that lives there) > LA. I wanted to visit Utah but all I have heard is that it is boring as batshit and full of mormons (no offence to anyone)?
I know most places can be dodgy for any girl on their own, but is Arizona relatively safe? I will be travelling by myself everywhere except Vegas most likely.
Anyone from Texas on here? I have wanted to go there my entire life.. like so badly you don't understand!! Is Dallas or Houston the better place to be?
Are there any other states that I should visit, like New Mexico or Idaho?
So I am hoping to visit all these places in a time frame of about 2 weeks... Thanks :)
