Hey /trv/, I am a migrant from /k/ and I am looking for some people to go on a trip with. I posted a thread on /out/ which explains some details, but they suggested to look here, as well.
Here is the scoop- I am looking to tour Chernobyl/Pripyat either in early July or mid September. I will go alone, but would rather have some company and maybe make a new friend. I don't have any friends left in real life that will travel, so I am reaching out to strangers now.
The details are in the other thread, but here is a quick recap:
>I am from PA
>24 and male
>Looking to take around 10 day trip
>Fly into Kiev
>Spend about 4 days in Chernobyl/Pripyat
>Spend the other days enjoying Kiev and maybe going elsewhere
Overall it's looking like it'll be around 2,300USD for the trip including everything. The more people that go, the lower the cost (substantially lower). For me, the plane ticket will be around 1200 bucks.
If you are interested, let me know and i will give you my throwaway email where we can talk about more details and I'll explain a bit more about myself.

So for some reason I've gotten it in my head that i should make a /trv/ guide thread for where i live. Because im a dildo im not going to tell you where that is now, but the guide would be for the region rather than a single city.
What details would you gents like to see in a guide? I have a pretty good idea of what to include but just to make sure i dont miss anything i figured id ask before i start putting it all together.
Just a few of the topics i have already thought of covering, in no particular order:
Location, geography, climate/weather, best times to visit
Culture/how dickish are the locals
Transportation, or lack thereof
Cost of living/staying, some general prices of things, general accomodation info.
Activities, cool places to see, obviously the bulk of the thread.
Bars/night life/fiki fiki
Day trips/activities to other nearby places/things
Brief "poor neckbeard ona budget" post (good fucking luck with that, pic related)
What else am i missing? I already have myself a rough outline in my head, but because of my autist tendancies i want my thread to be the mother of all info threads for my area.
Any ideas or helpful advice is appreciated. Being a snotty dick and contibuting nothing of value is cool too, i guess.

Sup /trv/, I am Brazilian and I and some friends are going to travel to the US, actually we do something crazy, we will drive from Orlando to Seattle. We chose the path south straight to San Francisco first, but beyond the Grand Canyon we do not know many "cool places" this way, you would suggestions of places to eat, visit, or just sit and watch the scenery?
I search some blogs, but I have nothing concrete or that really cool.
Also, if you have any tips on where to go or do not, is welcome.

I have left the United States with the intention of deriving as much as possible from the inexpressibly rich South American continent. I have no more than my backpack, instrument, and 800 USD and am eager to see what will come from the trip. There is no real itinerary nor any plan for a return and unless physical necessity demands that I give it up, I will continue to explore this land, working when I have to, indefinitely.
I am starting in Peru because convenience makes it easy for me to do so and because I am interested in some of the traditional practices to be found there in particular. From there it is likely to be East, but I cannot know for certain. I will likely work for a month or so in Lima before I backpack elsewhere just so I can learn enough Spanish to get by in other areas where English speakers are not so easily found.
I have traveled like this in the past but never without even the slightest idea concerning an end date. For years I have kept a journal with me to record my thoughts and experiences and will be doing so as I move along in South America. I decided to make a blog and type up my journal entries and would love for you, my brothers and sisters, to follow it and post on there with any tips, ideas, or even unrelated thoughts.
The website is aerochameleon.wordpress.com I will update it on a consistent basis since I tend to write often in my journal.
I believe that this is how we are meant to live and in the process of this indefinite journey, I hope to uncover whether I am wrong in harboring this conviction.

Hi /trv/, I'm coming from /g/ so I'm a semi-autistic and scared nerd who generally don't like new experiences.
This is probably a stupid question, but I am in San Jose, CA for a conference. I'm staying at a hotel at the airport which is quite a distance from the conference center (downtown), and I need to go back and forth (probably at late hours as I plan on socialising in the evenings).
I was wondering if it is safe for me to take the tram at late hours with visibly expensive equipment, or if I will get robbed. I know some cities in CA can be quite dangerous, but I think San Jose is pretty safe, no?
