Travelling solo for 4+ months, any suggestions?

In about a couple of months, I will graduate from my Masters in the Netherlands. A couple of weeks ago I broke up with my GF and therefore my original travel plans with her (backpacking in SEA) have now vanished as well. Therefore I have a lot of free time, space, and enough money to provide myself for the coming months.
I would like to go to a continent or country that I can fully explore, like SEA. Somewhere to do around every corner of the street, but also some nice quiet places where I can just relax and unwind a bit. Because of experiences with GF and the fact that I already went to SEA last year, I don't wanna go there again.
Was thinking about visiting South America or New Zealand (pretty expensive) but I hope you guys might have some more suggestions.
- Preferably something with a lot of nature, I'd like to go hiking or walking every once in a while.
- Some place not too touristic, but a place where there might be enough other backpackers so I can have some talks here and there.
- Perhaps I'd want to do some volunteer work through development websites.
- Also I'd like to do a lot of new stuff. I want to learn how to play the guitar, I want to learn yoga and generally I want to enrich myself.
Apologies for the pretty generic questioning, but that's what happens when I get an instant blank space. Thanks in advance for your comments. I'm open to a lot of things.
