How safe is El Sasabe, Mexico?

7 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So, I was planning on driving around Arizona and New Mexico, and I figured out that one of my areas I would be near is the Sasabe Border Checkpoint. This is in north Sonora, right on the border. I don't have much interest in travel inside Mexico, but I do want to get that passport stamp, and I'll be close. I'm just worried about the safety, plus what the customs might think of me driving across the checkpoint, and then right back an hour or so later. Anyone ever been? Sasabe Border Checkpoint is the least used on the border, I've heard an average of less than 200 people cross a day.

Paraguay questions

I am moving to Paraguay and have some questions. - I speak decent Spanish, but I understand they use the local language Guarani quite a bit. Do most people speak purely Spanish and Guarani? or is it a hefty amalgamation? - are the cities safe? - what's the local cuisine like?

I have never traveled to S.E.A. though I have been just about everywhere else in the world. I think it's finally time for me to head over, though I may be on a very tight budget. $2,000 for two weeks, including flight out from Los Angeles. Originally I wanted to visit Singapore, Thailand, and Cambodia; but now it looks like I will just have to limit that to Thailand. Does /trv/ have any good hostel recommendations? By good I mean either: really clean, excellent location, or good party scene; I don't expect to find all three qualities in one place, just want to let everyone know I'm open to different views and definitions of 'good' Tell me about your best and worst food experiences and the best sights to see or locales you enjoyed most

It's about time you told me where to go in Poland /trv/ I'm only considering Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw and Wroclaw. The first two seem like obvious choices when I look them up. Warsaw by name alone seems like a must-visit and is often highly rated as a travel destination, but I also often read/hear that its overrated and/or boring with nothing to do there. Wroclaw likewise seems to be under the radar but perhaps deservedly so. Make opinions for me. Redpill it. Every place on earth has "friendly people, great food" yada yada so such compliments mean nothing.

What should I see/do in Kazakhstan? I'm gonna be in the country for about a week in June. Was originally planning on popping over the border to Kyrgyzstan, but since getting a visa for Kyrgyzstan is a pain in the ass I'm probably only going to be in Kazakhstan. I'll fly into Almaty and will probably fly out of Astana a week later. Are the two cities any interesting? Where is the most interesting nature?

Tell me about the Nigerians in Tokyo. Are some trustworthy and liked or are they treated like shit by Japs? Also, are they prominent in other Japanese cities? >inb4 /pol/, not racist - genuinely curious

Hey guys I'm trying to book a 3 night stay in Chicago for my husband's birthday. I already got baseball tickets. Now I'm looking for hotel and other entertainment. Was thinking of a either the Athletic Association Hotel or the Talbot Hotel. I am also considering getting a "mystery" hotel from priceline to save 50 dollars a night. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also thinking about this comedy show http://www.secondcity.com/plan-your-visit/chicago/ Anybody have any experience? Thanks.

Getting stoned on good weed for the last time in who knows how many years (smoking a quarter, going to be good and high when I fly). My fiances water broke 9 hours ago and is currently in labor with our first child. 3 weeks early and looks like she'll be here before I get back to Hat Yai. Going to be an extremely hectic weekend. I'm so excited though. Going to start teaching in November. Going to spend a few months travelling with my family (my mom is flying out with me for 2 months, my dad is coming in a month for a month) once the baby can. My parents have never been outside of Canada so this is going to be awesome for them. Going to island hop with them for a month. Just excited and killing time so thought I'd share.

anyone worked the japenese ski resorts? I work in hospitality and I can skii a bit have concerns that wages up there might be slave-like, and cost of living really high also that it might be a sausage-fest but then it sounds like an experience, and something that's fairly within my reach

Post your region maps of which places you have visited yet, exchange travel stories, discuss odd picks and the obligatory anon who's been to Greenland, Bhutan, or some other exotic place, and start coloring your own maps. template: http://i.imgur.com/ySN7GJB.png I tried my best to turn mine into a clean template, but, thanks to my limited editing abilities, it has some beauty spots, so if anyone has a better version, feel free to share it.

I have a long trip ahead of me. 7 and a half months traveling around Asia Pacific. Here is my itinerary. I don't know much about the countries I will be visiting ( not inlcuding Eastern Islands). I will not have internet on my trip and I would like to know of any apps or books to download so I can learn more about each country ( Main tourist attractions, where to party and best places to buy things hopefully so I can finally get rid of my Iphone 4 and get my self a damn good camera phone). As you can see my days on land are few... I was thinking of also making a travel blog or just uploading pictures of each place Thank you! >> Recalada = Arrive >> Zarpe = Leave >> Pais = Country

Have you ever had THAT moment during your travels with others, with friends? The moment someone suddenly brings up something he shouldn't or becomes annoyed about something and you end up despising eachother? Or have you ever just become bored? No matter how good your friendship is, it will happen.

What were some of the most obscure place you've been to?

And what were your experiences like there? I'm talking about nowhere places like Nunavut, Papau New Guinea, Kamchatka Krai, Western Sahara, Kosovo, Northern Territory...
