TEFL/TESOL

Doing the CELTA course next month, and I really can't decide where to go once I've finished. The standard places seem to be either China or the Gulf states and I don't really fancy either, based on where I've already been and liked/am interested in I would rather West Africa, North Africa, the Levant, Eastern Europe, Latin America, India, or Vietnam. Does anyone have any advice or experience that might help me? Also tefl general

It depends on your itinerary. >http://www.hyperdia.com/en/ Plug your itinerary into Hyperdia to determine ticket costs, then compare to the below JR Pass options: >7 day Pass: 29,110¥ >14 day Pass: 46,390¥ >21 day Pass: 59,350¥ Please check the /trv/ sticky before asking questions. It's filled with links to great resources, many of them specific to Japan travel. Please refer to the old thread while it's still up: >>1116423

South east asia and then some

Hi everyone. I've been saving up for a bit and now I have some free time and around 5500$ for expenses + a possible 500 to 1000$ in credit card availability. I have plans to go from Yunnan (China) then Vietnam , Laos, Maybe some other part of Vietnam, Thailand and then Indonesia, to finally arrive in Bali where my GF would meet me for a 3 weeks to 1 month period stay. So I have around 3 to 5 months of availability. I was also interested in visiting japan and south korea, but I understand that It might be problematic to get there because I really do not want to spend a lot of money on air travel as I want to hike/be on land most of the time and save cash so that I can spend it on food and or living arrangement ( I have severe food allergies which makes it impossible for me to eat street food as it could possibly kill me and makes it necessary for me to eat in places where english ressources and ingredients lists have to be available). My questions are. How Can I incorporate South Korea and Japan into my plan (preferably before going to Yunnan..)? Also, does anyone have any guides or ressources in regards to hiking and making my way through south east asia from top to bottom? Thank you very much I hope I did not provide too much content. Trv has always provided me with a lot of info before going on long term travels. Godspeed!

Hey /trv/! I have my eyes set on Iran. It seems like such an interesting and beautiful country to me, away from tourism and out of the spotlight. I know it's not really a dangerous country in any way, but here's the thing: I'm gay. And my boyfriend is Persian. It would be really awesome to travel to Iran with him for a while, but I have no idea what security is like for a visiting gay couple there. Sure we can act platonic in public, but how safe is it to be romantic behind closed doors? Like would people get suspicious if we stayed in the same hotel room and so on? What exactly would happen if people found out? He hasn't been to Iran since he was a kid so I don't think he knows much about the situation. Thanks.

Hi /trv/, first time on this board! I have a question, I've been lurking around the China and Japan generals and I have been thinking of visiting said countries for awhile now. The question is, would it be possible to take a 2-3 week trip with around $4,000 next summer to visit parts of both countries? I would of course need to find places to stay in Japan and I have family in Shanghai in which I could stay with. In case if it may not seem possible to do, what are the best ways of traveling and getting to know each country under this kind of budget (ie, if I cant visit both, what is the best I can do with that money visiting just one of them).

Hey there! Do you ever thought about visiting the Ukraine? This summer is a great time to do it due to political situation, westerns now are highly welcome here. There is also more occasions to do it: 1) It's cheap as hell. 2) Visa free. 3) Girls will like you for sure. 4) It's safe. No crazy russkies with akas don't swarming everywhere. 5) It's not far if you European. And a special offer - i will guide you for free. But not like shit for the tourists with memorials and parks in the Kiev or Lviv. We could visit as much cities as you want using buses or trains (you may rent a car and drive it if you want as well, i'm able to drive but don't like it at all) and do whatever you want to do, (police will forgive you almost anything in common sense). More people is also better. I'm 24 y.o. good looking white male (no homo sorry) will meet you in any city at any time during this summer. My profit is only improving the english talking skills and cultural exchange. If you are interested or have questions please contact me - welcomeintheukraine@yandex.ru. I will check the thread at least one time a day as well.

Relationships when travelling

Alright /trv/ I've been travelling solo through Europe for the past two weeks and have been meeting lots of people. However most of them are other guys who, although I have a drink and laugh with, well, aren't girls. My question is, in your experience, is romance and sex when travelling common or is it just a meme? Real travellers need not apply.

Hi /trv/. This is my first visit amongst many future ones. To cut to the chase, I've been looking towards moving out of the US permanently (specifically Alabama). My sights are set on Finland (don't ask) and I've never travelled more than a few hundred miles in my adult life. What do I need to know and expect? I only have experience as a cook and want to waltz in prepared. I know not everything is so black and white, but perhaps someone well travelled can help me out. I would like to begin saving soon.

I'm a student and i will leave for munich during the winter semester. I heard it's a real pain in the ass for finding a home in munich. Does anyone ever lived there as a student? Was it hard finding a home? Anyone have a piece of advice about getting an apartment over there?
