I just had a nice long post that I managed to fuck up and I dont remember how I started it. Anyway, I'm going on a Two month Trip. my first trip ever, next week through Western Europe, and doing a Final inventory for my Bag before I zip it up and place next to the door ready for me to leave. I would like to know what everyone else brings on their trips and a rating of my Bag Currently. If I may have missed anything Vital, or something I can take out so I'm not carrying a Thousand lbs of nothing I need.
For reference, I have the Osprey Fairpoint 10 with the Daybag. I also do Parkour which is why I have so many shoes
In the main bag:
2 Pairs of Shoes
7 Pairs of Underwear
5 Pairs of Socks
4 Pairs of Sweatpants
1 Long Shirt
4 Normal Shirts
Lacrosse Ball (For Streching and Rolling out the muscles)
Toiletries (Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deoderant, Super Duper Fast Drying Towel, nail clippers)
In the Daybag, I will have:
A Small Jacket
Notebook and Pens
Two Playing Cards (I'm also a Magician)
All my Papers regarding the trip. (Confirmation Emails and the such)
I guess then add one more in terms of all clothing and a pair of shoes
How does this sound? Anything you would add or remove? What do you bring, and any last minute advice that this board may not have been able to prepare me for?

Would I have any issues traveling in Finland as a black American? I hav traveled to Norway, and had no issues, it was an advantage if anything. But Finland seems a different, odder, beast than Scandinavia.
I'd chiefly be visiting a friend who will be an Asian expat there for work. She's been to Sweden, also without issue, but not Finland.

How do you find people to travel with?
There's so many trips I want to take and so many places I want to visit but I'm tired of doing so on my own. I've traveled all over Western and Eastern Europe as well as North America but I've only done so solo. I'd like someone I can cut costs with, plan trips together, share adventures and knowledge with, provide company to, actually do things with, etc. Meeting people in hostels is okay if you want to walk around aimlessly through the city together and then forget about them forever once you leave but other than that it's no good.
All of my friends either have no interest in traveling, have no money to travel, or only care about flying to some exotic place just to get drunk. How do I find people who are actually open to genuinely experiencing traveling and not just want to stay in the hostel bed until 1pm and then get drunk every other night until they eventually pass out at 4am?
Is there a website where you can meet other travelers? Hell, I'd even be open to meeting other people from /trv/ to see things with. I literally don't know where else to look and find someone I can journey with.

*Note about the JR Rail Pass*
Many people ask about whether or not the JR Rail Pass is worth it. It depends on your itinerary.
Plug your itinerary into Hyperdia to determine ticket costs, then compare to the below JR Pass options:
>7 day Pass: 29,110¥
>14 day Pass: 46,390¥
>21 day Pass: 59,350¥
Please check the /trv/ sticky before asking questions. It's filled with links to great resources, many of them specific to Japan travel.
