Thailand thread. Anyway I'm going to Pattaya this weekend and looking around on google streetview has me so pumped, haven't been there since my navy days. I have a question about motorbikes there, can you rent them, can you ride them on any road even though you don't have a thai drivers license?

What's everyone's least favorite nationality to come across while traveling? For me it's the Chinese and Americans. The Chinese constantly rampage through little villages in massive tour groups, climb over everything, touch every piece of artwork, and spit everywhere. And Americans I don't like running into because I'm American and also we complain a lot.

Martial Arts Training Travel

Hello /trv/ where else besides Thailand has a significant industry based around martial arts training and tourism? As someone interesting in MMA, Id like to go abroad to boxing, dutch kickboxing, muay thai, BJJ, wrestling. I know I dont need to leave the US to train, I just think it would be fun to do with my vacation time. I also know where these styles originated and/or most popular. But I want to know if other places in the world have martial arts tourism that is as established as Thailand's Muay Thai camps.

Where is the best place to live?

Okay. So my girlfriend and I have finally gotten the balls to decide to move to another part of the country. We want out of Pennsylvania, for a lot of reasons. Mainly the climate. We've been kicking this idea around for years but to be honest we need some help in figuring out where we want to go and eventually buy a house and settle down. Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some insight into certain areas of the country from a first-hand experience, as opposed to a touristy big-city perspective. We both grew up in small towns, and we're basically looking for that same life but just somewhere warmer. The only problem is that we have some very specific requirements. The climate has to be warm. NOT sizzling insane 110 degree summer warm, but just much warmer than Pennsylvania. I like to hunt and fish and camp and do all kinds of outdoor things. I am a huge gardener and this is also my career path. I would like to be within an hour drive to some true wilderness. No city park shit. Somewhere that I can be alone and feel lost. We both want to be within a few (like 1 or 2) hours to a beach if that's possible, but we would settle for like 3 or maybe 4 hours max. Now what really matters are the kind of people. Not scummy hicks or ghetto ass thugs or other city dwellers, just normal people. Basically, we're looking for a warmer Pennsylvania. Can anybody please help us out? PS, Hard Mode, Not California.

Loneliness while travelling

12 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hey /trv/, I'm currently on my first solo trip in Europe. Im in serbia right now and I'm ultimately ending up in the UK on a work visa. I have no family in Europe and only some aquiantances. I feel like I've completely lost my sense of "home" as I think even going home would be depressing and I wouldnt feel comfortable, yet I have no where else to call home. I feel completely lost in the world and constantly lonely and uncomfortable. I understand this may be the norm for people travelling alone for the first time, but I would love some advice on how to deal with this or any stories of your experiences.

Hey /trv/ I'm an American wanting to go to England tomorrow. I know it's basically impossible, but I want to try my luck anyway. I tried looking on Google for flights but the cheapest I could find is 1000. Is there anywhere I can find a cheap flight, preferably under 500? 300 or less would be great. Thanks!

Is there any guide to New York City for visitors such as this one to Moscow? >>1216175 Wanna visit NY at new year holidays, so I realize I don't know so much about the city besides some general issues. Is it a good idea to stay at local's found by cuchsurfing? Sould I stay at suburbs and move across the city by metro (and is it safe to use it, especially in late eveninig) or it would be better to stay next door to Manhattan and use taxi? Is it difficult to move from Jersey to NY and back? What is the best way to go from each of NY airport to the city? Where can I buy or check out USA-made wine?

Would you give up your apartment to live in a van and pursue your /out/ passions? Many climbers live like this. Anyone else?

Anons, how did you get your wife to give your solo travel plans the OK? I didn't think a few weeks out of the year was a lot to ask, but feckin' hell. Unmarried people/MGTOWs need not respond.
