I've got the whole of next year free, where should I go? I was thinking about working for half of the year and travelling for the other half or get work while I travel, but I don't know where to go or what to do. Any tips?

Moving to Toronto for University. >How's the public transit? (I'll have about an hour and fifteen minute commute) >Does the city feel 'cramped'? >Does it smell bad? >Where should I start looking for my own apartment? Is it even feasible to do so? >Any particularly shitty neighborhoods to avoid? >Is it boring? Those are just some questions that have been on my mind. If you have anything else I should know go ahead.

Hey /trv/, I'm going to Iceland on my own next month. I'm just in Reykjavik for a few days, not planning on hiring a car. What can I see and do outide the Blue Lagoon/Golden Circle/Whale-watching stuff? What should I avoid? Any cheapish places to eat and drink or am I gonna get raped pricewise?

USA Roadtrip

Hi /trv/ I'm about to set out on a huge USA road trip, covering 12-15 thousand miles over 3 months. To those of you who have done the "Great American Road Trip" could you please advise me on any interesting places/food/historical sites off the beaten path? Of course I'll hit the bucket list spots like the Grand Canyon and the PCH, but give me your hidden gems. I'm especially interested in significant historical sites and great regional cuisine, like Chesapeake Bay crabs and various regional BBQ styles.

I'm emigrating to London in July. Anything I should know? Also some questions: I'm a white male with technology consulting experience in my late 20's - what's the job market like? What's a hip, central, up and coming suburb with good transport links? Where's the best 50m pool? Best healthy, and cheap takeout food (must be both)? Best and cheapest chain of gyms? Many thanks, britanons.

Gyaru Revival Edition As always, feel free to ask about: >Traveling to Japan >Living in Japan >Teaching in Japan >Joining the Yakuza >Getting your weeb fantasies crushed *Info on prostitution* Please try to refrain from asking questions about prostitution. Japan's sex industry is almost completely inaccessible to foreigners who do not speak Japanese. What is available can generally be found in the following links >http://rockitreports.com/category/sex-in-tokyo/ >http://erolin.net/ >http://rockitrisingsun.com/ *Note about the JR Pass* Many people ask about whether or not the JR Rail Pass is worth it. It depends on your itinerary. >http://www.hyperdia.com/en/ Plug your itinerary into Hyperdia to determine ticket costs, then compare to the below JR Pass options: >7 day Pass: 29,110¥ >14 day Pass: 46,390¥ >21 day Pass: 59,350¥ Please check the /trv/ sticky before asking questions. It's filled with links to great resources, many of them specific to Japan travel. Please refer to the old thread while it's still up: >>1240799

Have any suggestions on areas I might visit? I'm a native English speaker, but I'm very slowly learning a bit of Hindi. I'll at least know halfassed Hindi before my trip. Additionally, what are things I should be on guard against as a solo traveler?

Pic related, its Durian and Sticky rice. Mainly found only in Thailand, these are not as popular as mango and sticky rice due to Durian being an acquired taste. Durian is the only thing that made that fatass from the Travel Channel throw up and he fucking swallowed donkey jizz.

Island Dwelling

Hey, I've been looking to answer this question for a bit and pulled up nothing. Perhaps someone with experience would be able to help. Well, I've found this island called "Pitcairn Island" which is small tiny community. How does some move there? Currently I'm residing in Canada, I wonder how someone would move there.I found houses for rent, but how would finding an occupation work out if the population is -60? Not so much a travel question as a relocation. But also considering doing some island hoping this fall.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go

>34 years old >No future, no gf etc >Going to work a dead end job for 6 months >Going to travel SE Asia for as long as the money lasts >Going to get wasted and fuck big fat backpacker chick booty as much as I can >If I don't make it home alive or without HIV, so be it I don't care anymore. I have a meagre online income of about £100 a month. If I can build that up a bit more, maybe I can travel longer on a budget. May even end up going to India and drowning myself in the Ganges once I'm done with Thailand etc.
