Hey /trv/ bros. Gonna be in Chiang Mai for a few days. Any locals or fellow CM lovers know a good spot I can get some Sak Yant while I'm there? I was able to Google a couple leads but they were a bit dated so who knows. Phra Ajarn Gamtawn Wat Nong Khem Ajarn Pi Wat Pra Non Ajarn Dton Wat Tung Kiang

Tourist in Istanbul

I am a Canadian visiting Turkey as a tourist in March. Have any canadians on here traveled to Turley recently? My question is: did you get your viso on arrival in Turkey, or did you pay for it here in Canada prior to departure? I also have an EU passport (duel-citizen) from the UK, I know Turkey isn't in the EU, but is it free for them? This website says its free: http://embassy-finder.com/turkey_visa But this website says it isn't. http://travel.gc.ca/destinations/turkey

Hi /trv/ I know you probably get these threads every day and i'm sorry but i'd just like some general advice for my trip i'm planning to Italy. This will be my first holiday without my family (as i'm only 18) and I'm planning to do it with 2 friends. We've all agreed on going to Italy. My local airport has started doing flights to Venice and so we're starting there. The current plan is to go from Venice, to Florence, to Rome, and finish in Naples (because of Pompeii). So question 1: is this a good idea? or is it too ambitious? would it be better to miss Naples (as it's relatively far away from Rome) and maybe just to Venice>Florence>Rome? we would be using the Inter rail train tickets to travel from one city to the next. Which leads me on to question 2: is the Inter rail pass a good investment? we were planning to spend a day or two in each city and then move onto the next. Question 3: are there any 'must visit/miss' places along our planned route (subject to change) Question 4: I currently have £1,300 saved up for this trip. Is this too much/little? Final Question: is couchsurfing a worthwhile experience? bear in mind it's 3 18 year olds, is it better to stay in a hotel/hostel? I'd appreciate any feedback thanks

I'm English and I've always had a real problem with all the English people that are obsessed with going to Australia. I've had multiple friends who have been 'travelling' and spent most, if not all, their time in Australia. I find this to be a bit contrary to the concept of 'travelling', however recently I have been hearing nothing but good things about Australia (have a friend living over there currently.) So I suppose my question is, how awesome really is Australia for a young English bloke? Would you recommend it as somewhere to visit for a while, if not a year or so?

I'm a senior in high school, soon to graduate. I want to try my hand working on a fishing vessel for a year or so. I was considering shrimp. Who the hell do I go to? I live in Florida. Pic is irrelevant. Brand new laptop.

I'm planning to go on a very, very long (couple of years) roadtrip soon. I'll be travelling all over the USA, staying at motels, and I won't have a permanent home. The only problem is the money. Where would my job (online) send me my money if I don't have a home? Would I be able to collect it from a bank or something?

I don't know any hiking forums, so i'm just going to ask you people. I am planning on hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail, from Amicolola Falls State Park to blood mountain, or possibly all the way to NC. I really have never gone on a hike that was long enough to get one of those fancy schmancy backpacks and walking majiggers... I was just wondering if any of you knew anything about the gear I would need.

I'm sorry I don't know where to post this... If this is the wrong board I apologize and will delete the thread. Does anyone know where this picture was taken? I get that it's pretty generic but I love it so much, and would do anything to visit this lake in person

So I washed my passport ith my jeans a few years ago and twice I had issues in Frankfurt when trying to leave back to the U.S I'm going to Germany again in about 3 weeks but because my passport is damaged I have to go all the way to to L.A to get my replacement .I checked yelp and apparently walk ins are welcome. the official .gov wesbite says I need to have 2 weeks min. before I go on my trip...but I'm flying standby and I might be leaving between the 18-21 of march. Are they gonna bitch about that fact? Tomorrow is the only day I have school in the morning I even gave up my shift at work to take care of this I won't have another chance til I actually leave. pic slightly related

Yo /trv/ I was thinking about going to Korea or something in the next few years, I have to learn Korean first, what is it like? I mean it seems great enough, good food, pretty women, Asians are generally pretty nice and respectful.

Hey /trv/ I am a college student and I will be travelling to China for a couple weeks soon. I will be visiting Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. 1. Is there anything y'all have done in those cities that is amazing, a little off the beaten path and I should do? 2. Any tips for an american when he tries to buy stuff in the markets? 3. Is there anything I cant bring back? Such as things that customs will be more likely to take. 4. I carry a knife on me every day here, can I in China? 5. China general, any tips or stories are welcome. (picture unrelated)

Swedish girls

Sup /trv/, I was wondering if you could answer a question that's been driving me nuts since I left Thailand. I had pretty good luck with Swedish girls while I was there and I'm wondering if it's because they're sluts, or I'm exotic to them for some reason. It's a genuine questions - they were all gorgeous and digging me. I mean, I do alright, but this just seemed surreal. Is it because it's a fairly liberal country, or do they just tend to have a thing for asians? I'd really like to ask a Swede, but it's not exactly a classy topic of conversation. Also, I might bang the one I'd be asking. hahaha. pic related - Koh Phi Phi = first experience with a Swede

Hi /trv/, I've never posted here before but browse from time to time and everyone seems quite nice when compared to other boards. I have recently been offered the unique opportunity to work in finance in Williston, North Dakota. This is the center of the North Dakota oil boom and there is a very interesting environment in the city that comes from massive growth of population and wealth over the last ten years. I just curious if anyone has been there, have stories, or any dialogue in relation the North Dakota and the possibility of living there for a few years. pic related
