Oklahoma City

I have been given an opportunity to move there and live for free until I get a new job. I live on the Delmarva Peninsula and at 27 live alone, no debt, no savings either, and I have a trade. Shouod I take this opportunity? I dont know anything about OkC and my invitation is from a bro whom I do not know too well, he used to sell drugs before he moved out there, not my thing really. Nobody here makes money at all, 40k a year is a high ceiling for income and there is littke to do here besides the beach. I am so bored I slept 26 hours in the last two days besides work. What can you /trv/ gents tell me about Oklahoma City, OK state, and starting over?

Hey guys. I'm currently traveling through Europe until June. I'd like to find some sort of scenic beach that's quiet and beautiful. In the second half of May, I'll be in Greece, so I'd like to find one close by that's not ridiculously expensive. Any recommendations would be strongly appreciated.

Dear /trv/, There's about 7 or 8 of us going on a 7 day holiday in Europe (from manchester airport). The problem is - half of us want cultural places and the other half want beaches and nightclubs and all that shite. Any ideas on a decent compromise?

Just discovered this board, never been here, or heard of it, but it just so happens that I'm going to Stockholm pretty soon. Any swedes who can tell me any cool places (preferably non-tourist) to just hang out? I'm especially interested in music stores - CD, vinyl - and I always try to find the small, local, independent stores when going somewhere new. I'm staying at a hostel on Skeppsholmen, so if you know any nice places near that, I would love to know!

North Cape

/trv/, I'm rather new to this board, haven't lurked it for very long, but I'm working on this journey my dad and I are going to make. Coming summer, were planning on driving to the North Cape in Norway, starting in the Netherlands (where I'm from). We'll drive through Norway all the way up north till were there past the coast, to see the fjords and do a whale-safari (is that the word??). Now my question is, should we drive back through Sweden or Norway, considering we've already driven through Norway, and it's fun to see another country ofcourse. The reason why I'm doubting about this, is that we hear that Sweden is kind of boring for a tourist from people who've already been there. What is /trv/'s experience with these countries? Norway twice or Sweden? If Sweden, can you please tell me what to see there? What are the highlights? Thank you, Anon. posted this thread on /out/ too

Sup guys. I'm considering doing a paid teaching stint over the summer in China for a month. I have the choice between working in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, and Xi'an with full rooming and food paid for. I've never been and know jack shit about the country, which is mostly why I want to teach there. Which city would you recommend? Any anecdotes for the levels of fun, expensiveness, and chances to meet Chinese girls?

Hey guys, I'll be spending a few days in Paris, any suggestions on things I should do? Even the basic stuff, I have nothing planned. I would like to not spend too much money though. Also, how is the nightlife there? Any place in special I should check out? Thanks in advance.

Hi all. I have a long term plan of becoming a traveling English teacher. I considered taking a course right away this summer in order to qualify for some teaching jobs around the world, but have concluded that I will wait at least one more year, while I study something somewhere. I request advice on where. The location is ideally somewhere where I can actively train my English, i.e. a country with high English literacy or somewhere in the Anglosphere. I am rather cold and intraverted myself so it would be beneficial if most others were warm and emotional, forcing me to express feelings and such. I realize of course that there is human variation everywhere, but I believe the variation is clustered differently in different countries and cultures. I would also prefer a sunny place where there is no snow in the winter. Is there any place that suits this description?

going to LA for 3 weeks on my own

Hello, i'm going to Los Angeles for 3 weeks this summer and I'm from the Netherlands. I am 19 years and I am staying in some guest-family house. I am told that drinking alcohol is tough because it's 21+ over there. What could I expect when I'm there? >can I get laid?, i'm not ugly, a 8/10 guy >can I smoke weed, is it hard to get? I can twist my own joints but the green stuff is the only thing i need >can I drink alcohol without getting caught? Some tips would also do me good, thanks

Hey /trv/, this is my first time posting here. I'm planning on going on a cross country USA roadtrip in two years. This is basically what it looks like right now: http://www.planyourroadtrip.com/#/map/usertrip/9b7dace1e0bccabe That isn't gonna be the end of it though. For about 10 years I'll continue roadtripping across the USA. I've got a bunch of guns (safety) -- any shady places I should be wary of? What I'm asking for is general tips, how to keep safe, American customs, etc. I'm travelling in pic related if that makes a difference.

I figure this is the most appropriate board, so I hope someone can help me with a question about the German language. I'm answering the question 'Du kochst heute, nicht wahr?' negatively. I'm a little confused about where to put nicht in my response. Would it be 'Nein, ich koche nicht heute' or 'Nein, ich koche heute nicht'? Hope someone who knows the language better than I do can help. Thanks in advance. >pic not related

Anyone here taught English in Mexico/Central America/South America? I'm a 22 year old Bio major with interest in research/grad school down the road. However I woke up one morning and realized how much I'd like to teach English abroad. I've always excelled at English and love languages. I've taken 3 years of Spanish and only need a couple of months in a Spanish speaking country to get fluent. Any thoughts or advice?
