Germany suggestions

1 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: brandenburg-gate-at-night.jpg]
Hi /trv/ I was hoping you could give me some advice on some of the must see sights on the east side of germany, specifically in Berlin, Dresden, Nuremberg and Munich. I'm spending 4 nights in Beriln, and two nights in the other 3 cities, I know it's a bit rushed by usual standards, but I only had 11 days and wanted to see as much as possible before having to head back. Basically I'm taking the bus route down from Berlin==>Dresden==>Nuremberg==>Munich. The only things I know that I'm going to do are day trips to Potsdam from Berlin, and Bamberg from Nuremberg. Also thinking about the Flohmarket? and Deutches museum in Munich, haven't got much else on the agenda at the moment though. Again, I realise that I'm travelling a fair bit, and as such I'll have to rush a fair bit of it, but it's all booked up now so theres nothing I can do about it. It's also a bit of a trial run for when I'm solo travelling around Europe for 50 days or so later in the year. Thanks for any tips/advice, it'll be much appreciated

Plan on travelling to Asia in a month. It's going to be hot because a lot of it is going to be sightseeing with lots of walking and stuff like that through SE Asia. I'm not an inexperienced traveller, especially in that region. I'm just looking for second opinion on gear. I usually just sling my backpack (Maxpedition condor) and pack it with water bottles like a Nalgene or those bought along the way with camera and snacks and be on my way. Lately I've been thinking that it may be a little more cooling and lighter to use a Camelbak. In particular the Ambush with 3L bladder. I'm just not sure whether or not the convenience that I'm thinking that it will bring will actually be practical. It will be an extra bag to bring just for day stuff and I'm not sure it will be worth it. Does anyone travel abroad with camelbaks or the like? Is it actually helpful or more of a hindrance?

so, what good train planning sites are there ? cause most I found are absolute shite, how do train companies ever expect to compete with airlines if they cant even setup a good european booking website, Yes, I mad. Trying to get from Belgium to girona, so was looking at Brussel - Paris - Barcelona, on train maps it cleary exists, but booking sites come up empty eg. Eurorail, DB, etc

Boston

Spending 6 nights in Boston in June for a conference; arrive Friday evening, have the weekend to myself, then the conference runs Monday to Thursday. General Boston advice but also recommendations for cheap accommodation? Something near to a T station & with reliable Internet access. I'm hoping there are guesthouses or smaller hotels which aren't listed on the big search sites (TripAdvisor etc.) which are less than £100 per night.

Living the Dream

I love St. John. It's got to be one of my favorite places in the world. I decided to move here right after college and I've been here for about 2 years now. I can think of worse fates than bartending a few days a week and taking care of vacation rental properties. Anyone else living the dream? Moving to an interesting place and enjoying life? Where would you move to if you had a choice?

Here's the deal /trv/ellers! I'm currently in Tokyo, 13-15.07 (Sat-Monday) I will have a 3 day weekend and I want to go somewhere abroad. If you were me, where would you go (money isn't that much of a problem but I would prefer not to spend a small fortune on this escapade)? I'm currently thinking about Seul.

I want to travel this summer, the summer before I go off to college. I'm from a New York suburb, I don't want to go to a city. I'd like someplace radically different and maybe somewhat pastoral. Any recommendations?

Me and a friend want to go to Israel for a short holiday (4 days). We are not religious but we wanted somewhere hot with a good exchange rate. I know little about the culture in particular the drinking culture as we will be getting drunk most days. Some helpful advice would be nice the do's and don't.

Pisa Italy

I'm in Italy for a week in Pisa. Seen the leaning tower and all that jazz. Drove down to the marina and sat on the beach and had some wine. What else is there to do here? And why are the women so cold? They don't really make eye contact with you and if you smile at them they look away. Any tips would be appreciated THanks

I'm from Germany and just finished my A-Levels. Suggest some compulsory traveling I should do. I'm bilingual in English as I used to live there. What are some places a 19-year old( soon to be 20 year old) should not miss out on before starting to study? P.S:I hate touristy areas as all tourist attractions are the same shit all over.

Seeking change of pace and midget strippers

Fellow /TRV/er here, Hear is the deal, I have been working a job I hate for 2 yrs now in SEA and I've saved some cash. I'm considering quitting my job as an architect and moving to either Bali or somewhere in the Philippines for a couple more years to enjoy life at a slower pace before returning home. I don't want to eat my savings and I don't really want to live like a bum, rather I am going to continue working at least enough to break even on my cost of living + a trip home for Christmas per year. I have not really enjoyed KL, SG or BKK but still need to be someplace connected enough to have an international airport and jobs for highly educated cunts. So where and why?
