Not able to get women in E. Asia

I'm a 6' 1" white guy in my mid-twenties. I'm in good shape, kind of built, but I keep my head shaved. I've been told I look intimidating. I've been to Korea and now I'm in Japan. So far, I'm not having any luck slaying the Asian poon, even after being on dates, approaching women in bars or stores, getting numbers, emails, etc etc. They all flake or lead to nowhere. I'm just wondering what in the hell I'm doing wrong, when ugly kids with crooked chins like assface in my pic related apparently have Japanese girls all over him (he's a blogger in Japan and has a Japanese girlfriend). Or scary Nigerian black dudes with HIV supposedly get Japanese girls every Friday and Saturday night in the clubs. TL;DR: Why can't I get replicate that success? Is being bald with well groomed facial hair that much of a hinderance in East Asia?

Major bus lines

I'm planning a trip within the next month/month and half, and I was planning on going with Greyhound, Megabus and other such "major" transportation companies, simply because they're cheap. After reading reviews online though, it seems that might not be the way to go. Missing connections, being stranded for hours, no refunds or apologies, and so on. Anyone have experience with any major transportation companies like Greyhound or Megabus?

What does it says?

Costa Rica?? I'm traveling down there this summer. Planning on working at a bar/hostel in exchange for room & board. Any fellow travelers interested in meeting up? Looking for a wingman. Probably going to be mongering a bit. Anybody have mongering experience down there? Share some stories?

Save Kunming!

Heya Everyone. I'm a Chinese guy who was born in Kunming in '88. It was a beautiful city that I could be proud to be born in. I had to leave in 93' to America for family and economical reasons, but always wanted to return. In 2012 I went back and it was nothing like I remembered. My childhood was gone, lost in a sea of advanced industrialization and corporate greed. The air is thick with pollution, and it's painful to even wander the streets. People without facemasks are actually rare. It pains my heart to see my city like this, so if possible, I do urge anyone to please help out my beloved city. If possible, I'd like signatures for this petition to prevent the construction of an oil refinery they want to build in the city, which was started without proper inspection and studies done in terms of the environmental effects. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/please-remonstrate-chinese-government-about-px-project-kunming-yunnan-province-china/FpGxjYJw The chinese government may be large, but I'd like to think if we can get this filled out, even the voices of the people can be heard. Thank you.

>ITT: Random acts of hospitality/generosity you encountered when traveling abroad When I was cycle touring in New Zealand at one camp site there was this morbidly obese Maori guy growing tomatoes. For no apparent reason he gifted me his remaining tomatoes of the season.

What's up /trv/, first time poster here, and I need a little advice. My girlfriend and I are going to be going on a road trip from Austin to New York City in June. The only thing is, we don't want to have to pay the ridiculous $400 for parking for the week that we're going to be there, and we also don't want to try to find parking (it's really just too much of a risk) in the city. My question is...what the fuck would you do with your car? I'm kind of at a loss here, as this just jumped in my lap at the last second. I feel like it might be cheaper to try and find parking somewhere in one of the smaller cities in the area, and take a train into the city from there. Thanks in advance.

Staying in rural Italy with distant family

I'm staying ten days in the small village of Pontelandolfo, Italy. I'm 20 and will not have a car, other than occasional rides my relatives can give me. So far I know very little Italian, but I am still learning. There is a bus that runs about an hour to Naples, but I'm having trouble finding info online about what to do around the village area. Leaving on the 16th of May, general experience in rural Italy?

hello /trv/, I'm 19, Australian and have never travelled anywhere without my family. I really want to travel, but I'm struggling to find the motivation to just get out and do. Friends always talk about how much fun travelling is and older people say they wished they travelled more. I just don't know how to begin. Like I know I want to go to France, but I need to go elsewhere if I'm in Europe. How do I plan a trip? Where do I stay? How do I organise to stay in a youth hostel? What's all this stuff about getting a visa? How do you make a trip cheaper/more exciting? Sorry for being a travel noob. Also, general travel tips thread

I'm going to Orlando in a few weeks with a group of my college friends. We only have a week once we're down there and we're total theme park nerds. What are some of the best theme parks in the Orlando area? We know about Disney but it seems oriented towards little kids. We were thinking Universal Studios as the best park to visit first but what do you guys like down there the most?

What is the best season for a two to three month US road trip? And am I correct in assuming that it'd be smarter to drive roughly from the north the to south in the fall and from the south to the north in the spring?

A few months ago I asked a few questions about trainhopping and got a replies from people interested in reading about my trip. Back then, I wasn't too serious about it, and didn't keep tabs on the people interested. I was recently made homeless, so now is as good as a time as ever to try trainhopping. In two weeks, I'll be trainhopping from New York to the west coast with very little cash, as well as nearly zero /out/ skills. I have a few books I'll be blowing through (book worm, read 300-600 page books a day) this week, but I'd still like to ask what I should know before I head out. If anyone is interested in tagging along, email me or post in this thread. I'll mostly be posting to /out/ but I just made a wordpress blog which i might keep updated as well. http://hotshotexpress.wordpress.com/
