Been living in LA county for the five years Hate the area, hate the city, hate all the people. Before that I lived in Riverside county, got my first taste of desert area there. Was there for 13 years. Loved the arid heat, weeds and dirt. The privacy was amazing. For reasons, I cannot return around there. So for the last 4 years I have been contemplating Arizona. Always admired Arizona. I love the heat, dryness and desert. A To skip to the point, what part of Arizona would you guys recommend? What's the area like and people like. Just anything you guys can tell me about it, cons, pros. Any of your experiences living there or vacations would be a great to get an idea of it. If it helps I would like to avoid southern Arizona.

Hi /trv/, I'm on the verge of traveling America with a girl in mid August, but have been a bit preoccupied recently and haven't been able to organize flights. I was thinking of doing New york, Philadelphia, DC, Toronto and Boston, but it seems pretty expensive with the access to maybe better place available. Being from the UK, wanting to end the trip with a bit of sun, heading South sounded appealing although I'm unsure what the weather is like around August, and both us of being 21, not renting a car makes it seem more unaccessible. Can anyone give some advice to traveling around the East coast and possibly recommend some must see cities or routes. Thanks.
