hey /trv/ Have any of you travelled across the sea on a cargo ship? I was thinking of taking one with my car from Australia to the US so I could road trip. Or would it just be easier to fly over and rent a car? th-thanks

Hi /trv/, I'm off to South East Asia for the first time in December - January. I fly into Bangkok on the 17th of December and have until the 21st before the group of friends I am travelling with arrive. After they arrive we are staying in Bangkok five days before heading to Cambodia, Vietnam and possibly Laos. My question is, do I stay in Bangkok while waiting for my friends and take day trips out of town, or should I head somewhere else? Phuket? Chiang Mai? Nice hotel and sit poolside reading and relaxing before slumming for the next four weeks? Thanks!

Hey guys, I will be traveling to California for the first time next Monday. I will be there for 3 days with my sister and brother. We have never been, but we will spend a whole day at Disneyland. Maybe that Monday or Tuesday. What day is usually the slowest? Also anywhere neat in that general area we can head to after Disneyland? We have never been so just very curious about everything.

Hi /trv/, I really want to go to North Korea, I think it's an amazing country to visit as a traveler. Now I am from The Netherlands, I was wondering if anyone could recommend me an agency to book at, this could be inside my country or abroad. I see that some trips vary between 2500 euros and 3500 euros and above. Now I am just a poor student, so I would like to go as cheap as possible, but I will save every penny to go there and visit it while Im still young. If anyone has experience with going to North Korea, please share (: Note: I am aware of the stuff that happens there, and I am aware what your rights and duties are as a traveller.

Hey /trv/, I'm travelling in Europe right now, currently in Switzerland. I want to head to places like Konstanz and Innsbruck but hostels are starting to cost up to 30-40? which is much more than I wanted to be paying or whats in my budget. I'm terribly unresourceful how do I get to places like those or even smaller towns?

Hi! I'm spending NYE in Budapest together with 5 friends. We'll be there for a few nights and are looking for nice parties and good food, anyone that has any insider recommendations? Also, any NYE parties that are worth checking out? We have quite a varied music taste, so something that caters to different types of music is preferred. As I'm mainly into electronic, any good tips on proper electronic clubs/bars are also very much welcome. köszönöm!

Cross US Road-trip Help

Sup /trv/. My friends and I are planning a road-trip from Boston to Seattle this summer, but we're getting kind of discouraged at the logistics of such a journey. None of us are experienced with such things, and being a group of poor college kids doesn't help much either. I was wondering if the more experienced travelers here could give some protips and maybe give an estimate on the overall cost of such a journey. There will be 3-5 of us, depending on the final cost. We want to spend at least 4 days in Washington once we get there, and we'll be staying with a friend. Chicago will be a mandatory stop because I have a friend there as well.

What do you think of people travelling with go pros? I fucking hate them. Especially if they think they should walk through cities with their camera on a stick.

I'm bored and slowly being consumed with wanderlust. What do I need and what do I need to know if I were to buy a plane ticket to England and just spend a month walking around the country? I don't want to carry too big of a pack.

Hey guys, I'm moving to Virginia, US soon. I have couple of questions that maybe some local people would like to answer: - If I find an apartment on rent.com does the price there include tax? Or renting an apartment is tax free? - Same goes with the car, I would like to lease a car. Does the price in "estimate payment" include tax? How much is the tax? - Is $1300 a good price for a 1bd apartment near Chantilly, VA? It's aroung 750 sq ft. Thanks in advance for the answers. If you have any tips for me don't hesitate.
