What's the safest town in Germany? I'd like to live in Germany with my gf. (I'm fluent in german btw) we're going to start a master there and try to settle down there for good. First in our list is Berlin as its obviously full of universities but is it safe?

Hey /trv/, UK fag reportan. I'm thinking about just walking the earth for a while, I think you guys call it vagabonding. I'm going to quit my job (agency stuff, no big deal), hop a ferry over to France, and then just put one foot in front of the other. Any advice? I'm thinking of just getting a duster and hat like pic related and roughing it, seems easier then carrying a massive fucking rucksack around the place. I'd also like to put together a checklist of the shit I should try to do, not ordinary stuff like 'see the sights', which I'll probably do anyway, but more adventurous stuff like 'save a village' just so it'd make for some awesome stories.

How many people here live in a tourist town? I am in a beach town and we get tons of college kids for spring break and around the holidays. Today I had some drunk tourists throw a beer bottle at me from their truck and tell me to fuck myself as I was on the sidewalk. Tourist hate thread

Sometimes I like to browse wikitravel for the most ridiculous sounding (but entirely factual) city/region entries. This one for example: >At present, the city can in no way be considered a tourist destination, and unaccompanied westerners would most likely not make it out alive. Arrival by car from Mogadishu is extremely dangerous, and arriving by sea invites risk of attack by pirates. http://wikitravel.org/en/Kismayo Anyone got some other good ones?

What do you guys use to book flights and hostels when you are backpacking? I used to use my mobile phone, but it's busted, and I was thinking about getting a cheap tablet or netbook since it's black friday It would also be easier to look for jobs and such, especially with a netbook Good idea or bad?

So my mother recently told me her friend talked her into joining a trip to South Africa. How bad of an idea is this? I know there is currently a genocide against white farmers in the region and the rape kaffir make Detroit look civilized. Does anyone have any tips on surviving South Africa? How dangerous is it really for white women?

What year is it? really?

http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/about-chinese.html The Chinese calendar does not count years in an infinite sequence The Chinese calendar is lunisolar. It is based on exact astronomical observations of the sun's longitude and the moon's phases. It attempts to have its years coincide with the tropical year and shares some similarities with the Jewish calendar. These similarities are that: an ordinary year has 12 months and a leap year has 13 months; and an ordinary year has 353-355 days while a leap year has 383-385 days. Still can Not figured out WHAT YEAR we are really in. I mean 2013 years after Christ because we don't know where 0 year is, So we say Christ is significant! Let's start Year 0 after his dead!.

hey /trv/ I'm English and am about to start my degree (Computer Systems Integration), once done with my degree I'd like to move to Canada (Probably get a working holiday visa and hopefully get sponsored once I get a job), basically my course will qualify me for jobs like programmer, software engineer, hardware engineer etc and on the third year of the course you do work experience for a year so I'll have that to put on my CV, I've done some researched and asked at the uni and apparently people in this field are quiet high in demand, the average student will have several job offers before they graduate, so since it seems to be a good course I was wondering if I could move to Canada afterwards, like I said I'd probably get a working holiday visa and hopefully get a job and an employer willing to sponsor me, is this a plausible idea? Out of curiosity, would it be possible to move to the US if I wanted to?

hi /trv/. I was wondering what is the best way to begin a journey of traveling? I know the question sounds silly, but I'm a community college student with very little money and little opportunities. I feel like school is not getting me anywhere, so I want to see if I can travel to gain experience.

I touched on this in the other Morocco thread but since I have so many questions I decided to make my own. I'm an 18 year old Canadian who is going to Morocco this summer. I am fluent in Canadian French and i'm travelling with two other people, one Canadian born Moroccan who is fluent in both French and Moroccan Arabic and another Canadian who is also fluent in French. My Moroccan friend has lots of family in Morocco who we plan on visiting. So I have a number of questions: 1)How much money should I bring for 3 weeks? We want to live as cheaply as possible but a couple things we want to do is: ride camels, go stay at a Berber camp, stay one night in a Riyad, travel around the country via bus 2) Is travelling around the country safe/cheap? 3) What's the best way to get to Ouarzazate 4) Any must sees/dos/eat/drink while in country? 5) cheapest ticket from Vancouver to Morocco is 1600 and involves a stop in Paris. Would for example flying to Spain and bussing over be cheaper? 6) Is it worth visiting the south of Spain for a couple days? 7) Would June or July be a better month to go? To note we're not solid on how long we're gonna stay so if for example 2 weeks is more than ample time, we may dedicate more time to Spain for example Thanks for all your help! pic unrelated
