I'm planning on moving to Peru in the next few months but I need a place to stay at while I get my bearings, Does anybody know of any monasteries or other communities I could stay at for free? I'm planning on backpacking through the country. Also, any advice on traveling through South America is welcome.

Tier 2 Visa

So I know this is a bit of a stretch, but may as well give it a shot. I want to get a Tier 2 working visa for the United Kingdom. Obviously, in order to get a working visa, I need to have a secured job position that is gonna make 20,000 pounds a year. So I'm wondering if there is anyone who can give me some connections to a business that could give me sponsorship for a visa. The difficult part, of course, is that I am a recent graduate from University of Edinburgh with an MA in English Literature, and most of my job experience is in either trade or hospitality fields, and even then it isn't fully qualified experience - always working as an apprentice or a non-managerial position because I was doing it while attending university. I'm an American national, but I lived in Edinburgh for 4 years so it'll be a smooth transition... just need someone who's willing to give me the time of day. I also have a heap of savings, so the whole money for survival requirement wont be a big deal... its just not quite enough to qualify as an investor (by a longshot lol) . Would be great to hear from any expats or people who are on working visas who have successfully gotten through as well. Thanks for any help you guys can offer - anything would be appreciated!
