PNW in March

2 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: Hidden_Lake_in_Mount_Rain(...).jpg]
Hey, /trv/. My mom and I are going to the PNW next March (first two weeks of March) and are looking for some outdoors activities to do. We know that it'll be cold still, and probably damp as well, but I read that there shouldn't be too much snowfall near the mountains (mostly residual snow on the ground). We are looking at landing in Vancouver, BC, or Portland, OR, and then driving to the other destination through Washington. We were in Washington a few years ago in September and really liked Olympic NP. Seeing as we don't mind snow (however we aren't trained mountaineers) do you have any suggestions for some moderate scenic hikes that we can do in early March that are safe and around <8 miles loop round-trip anywhere between Vancouver and Portland? I saw the Chain Lake trail at Mt. Baker that I am interested in, but am not sure if it is feasible in early March (any feedback would be appreciated). Thanks!

How many languages can you speak trv, and where did you learn them? 3 for me. English and turkish, which I learnt growing up, and some passable Spanish, which I picked up staying 3 months in Colombia and am continuing to learn back at home.

Sup, /trv/. So im going to be studying abroad in Argentina for around 6 months this spring/summer. I'll be based in Buenos Aires, but should have plenty of time to travel. What are some cool areas in Argentina that I need to see? I'm already hoping to get a chance to visit Patagonia, and I believe there's a study-based trip to Jujuy that I'll be taking. What are some other areas? I hear the border with Chile is really beautiful, what else? any native argentines want to weigh in? pic related. jujuy. looks cool as fuck

I live in north England, going at a casual pace and baring in mind I'm not a professional athlete, how far do you think I could cycle in 3 months? I want to try to go to Canada but that's not a very good route as most of the distance is just water. I'd say at least Italy, maybe even Africa.

Irish gent here. There is something innately wrong with people who have never travelled or who have no desire to do so. You know the type: born and raised in Ballygobackwards, maybe spent a few years living in the "Big Smoke" for college, only to return to their little village and marry the girl up the road. Their inbred children will usually continue the cycle leading to whole villages having the same surname. These are usually the same types who proclaim that Ireland is the best country in the world. Idiots. Travel and then make that judgement. So far, I have experienced living in South America, North America and Asia, each for months at a time. I have also visited over 30 European cities, mainly on week long holidays. I could write a book on my adventures and may well do so one day. The people I've met, the sights I've seen... I'm getting nostalgic just reminiscing about it. Your annual piss-up in Santa Ponsa with the lads is not travelling by the way. I find that people who haven't travelled are also extremely socially awkward, usually still living with the mother too. Anyway, what do you think?

I'm studying in central Europe and I'm thinking of hopping a plane to Kiev next week. I'd really like to see a major protest, since I'm from America, where they're rare, boring, and ineffectual. Is this a good idea? From the media reports, it seems like the government is making sure the riot police remain nonviolent. And if EU ministers can walk around the protest camps safely, I'm sure I could, as well. If it goes down, I'll be posting photos here.

Been looking to get a decent deal on a Vegas Strip hotel in a couple months. I usually have no issue finding a good deal on a nice hotel, but I'm really not having luck this time around. The hotel sites seem to be pretty poorly designed and the hidden resort fees seem to spoil any deal I find on a third party site. I'm leaning towards the treasure island hotel so far - anyone have recommendations for strip hotels or websites where I can get a better deal on a stay? Also, general best things to do in Vegas thread. All tips are greatly appreciated.

So i looks like I'm going to be spending a single day in Toronto, Ontario on the 18th by myself. Does anyone here have suggestions as to what I should do? I've looked around online, and it seems like theres a raptors game, and Evil Dead the Musical playing that evening, both of which seem interesting. I'll be arriving around 6:30 - 7am though, so that leaves me with the whole day.

How much money should I have saved up before moving to LA (or more likely Santa Monica/Venice area)? I do freelance animation/vfx and it'll probably be tough to lock a job down before moving which is why I'd rather save up and have a safety net to fall back on in case I have difficulty finding work. Also general tips for moving out of parents' house for the first time would be appreciated.

Hi, i'm French and I go to London for 2 weeks in January Except that I will not take an hotel, I'll try to sleep in british homes. So I am looking for British who live in London and can be able to put me up the weeks of 13 and 20 January. I'm friendly, nice, I make not ashamed, I know how to behave well, I kiss very well and I know how to do the dishes. I smoke by cons and I can have weeds also for those who smoke too.

Hey guys, Have you managed to find an app that lets you make calls to international numbers that don't have that specific app? Skype is a bit pricey (sometimes it makes more sense to buy a local sim). I looked at talkatone but it seems like you're limited to being able to call within NA. tl;dr is there an app that lets you call regular numbers using wi-fi? I don't mind paying a yearly fee if it's reasonable

Been in Singapore 6 months. Plan was to get a job and live here for 2-3 years. Well the job part fell through so now I need to leave the country within the next month. Thing is I don't want to return home (Scotland). So what should I do to maximise my time to stay abroad? I am a pharmacology graduate and I want to work. I have a 12 month New Zealand visa however I can only stay there about 2 months unemployed (unless I do homestay). I'm interested in teaching abroad but the fees are like $3000+. Suggestions guys? I want to travel and to have some real employment. Suggestions guys?
