The future of Metroid

Hello everyone. I am a Nintendo employee with connections with everyone who handles Metroid.
Nintendo has seen the lack of interest in Metroid as a brand and is responding in full. The new Metroid Prime has been cancelled outright, and the Federation Force team is retooling the mechanics into a Star Fox title. Expect to see lots of cool anti gravity features in Blast Ball, which is NOT going anywhere and is in fact being expanded on.
Nintendo knows full well that Feds bombed because it was a Metroid game, not because of it's gameplay, and is taking steps to retire the franchise for good. People simply don't buy Metroid games, as evidenced by the lackluster sales of all the Metroid games on the eshop. Nintendo is anticipating that Splatoon alone will outsell ALL Metroid titles once the spin off titles start coming out.

I write bean counting software for a large scale importer. I have zero background in game development. I also don't know how to produce assets like models, sound effects, etc. That said, I write good code in that the game mechanics I write won't glitch out constantly, and I'll be able to write code for mechanics as complex as one can quantify, which would make the game distinctive if we had some imaginative game designers behind it.
How useful would my contribution be? Are people like me a dime a dozen, a rare breed, or somewhere in between?
