>Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced that he will take a reduced salary of 50 percent from February to June, AFP reports. This comes after Nintendo announced a 30 percent drop in profit for its nine month fiscal period due to weak Wii U sales. Other Nintendo executives will also take a pay cut between 20 to 30 percent.
>The company's net profit is a 30 percent decrease over the previous year but manages to maintain a 10.2 billion yen profit for the nine month period ending December 31, 2013. Nintendo sold 2.41 million Wii U units from April to December of 2013 and is expected to sell another 390,000 by the end of March 31, 2014. Up until the end of 2013, Nintendo has managed to sell 5.86 million Wii U units with 29.37 million software sold.
>On the 3DS front, Nintendo sees an impressive 11.65 million units sold for the nine month period, although down from 12.71 million for the same period in 2012. The 3DS sees total life to date sales of 42.74 million units with 152.29 software units sold ending 2013.
