ITT: Why Game Freak fails at physics. We all know that some Pokémon's proportions are unrealistic compared to their real-life counterparts. For example, Raichu is a mouse that's over two and a half feet long, and Venomoth is nearly twice that. However, one Pokémon whose physical properties are downright disturbing are Wailord. Wailord is some fucked up shit. WARNING: Math and autism beyond this point! Wailord has a mass of 398.0 kg. (Why they didn't just go with 400 is a mystery, but that's not important to us.) It has a length of 14.5 m. Does anything seem wrong to you yet? Now let's take its shape into consideration. Judging by its official art (not the given picture), it seems to be composed of a hemisphere with radius 3 m, a hemisphere with radius 2 m, and a truncated cone of height 9.5 m connecting the hemispheres. Using this, I determined Wailord's volume to be 262.32 m^3. Dividing its mass by this number gives a density of about 1.517 kg/m^3. To compare, the density of air is 1.204 kg/m^3, and the density of argon, a common noble gas which composes 1% of air, is 1.784 kg/m^3. Wailord can float in argon. And yet it's able to dive 3000 meters underwater. What the fuck, Game Freak. tl;dr some Pokémon are more physically impossible than others

Hello, /vp/, I work at Game Freak as an intern, I have some small tidbits of info regarding Pokemon X/Y. I don't expect many of you to believe me, but I'm sure some of you will take heed. >The reigonal pokedex will consist of around 250 Pokemon. Around 130 of them are completely new. >A good deal of them are related to older pokemon, I can't say which ones exactly, but I'll tell you that it will focus mainly on gen V and III pokemon >The Bonding system works similarly to how EVs did in Generation I. it increases as you fight more Pokemon, and slightly effects its stats. What stat the Bond system effects is determined by the Pokemon's nature, A Pokemon with a maxed out bond level will have around 20 points higher in a certain stat than one you just caught at the same level >This will be the first time since Gen II where all starters are monotype. Chespin is a slower pokemon with high defense and attack, Fennekin is a support pokemon with great defenses and a wide support movepool, and Froakie is basically a water type infernape >Xerneas and Yvetal are Normal/Psychic and Fighting/Dark, respectively.

/vp/, I'm trying to determine who this character is. I only know she's not Dawn.

I have a peculiar question. Most pokedex entries state that hitmonlee can stretch his legs to twice his own height, giving him supreme range I'm the fighting Pokemon kingdom. HOWEVER, I still question. What lies in those leg muscles? Is it some sort of cartilage? Is it bone? Or is it like a frog tongue; super stretchy strong muscle?

New Insider Pokemon X/Y Information

313 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: yNXtX.jpg]
I'll spare you any long detailed explanation as to who I am, or what position I hold, only to say that this info will shock, anger, and perhaps relieve long-time fans of the series. You may view this as a rumor, or view this as the truth, but I promise you that in the following months you will all remember this post, fondly or not, when it becomes reality. I can confirm Nintendo of America will be releasing a New Trailer showcasing a Baby Pinsir and a Baby Heracross around the middle of March, as well as featuring information on the new "Bond System" that Sylveon figures into. Look forward to that as proof of my legitimacy. Without further ado, here is a compiled list of some key features Game Freak is launching in Pokemon X and Y: * Main Characters are named Jean and Jane in the localization, non-customizable. The Trainer now appears on the bottom screen during battle, with the visual interface resembling a "speech bubble" with the commands inside. * You now have a Trainer Level, effects how in-game characters react to you, and grants various Bonuses as it goes up such as increasing capture rate, and rarity of Pokemon you encounter. New In-Battle Key Item "Whistle" can be used once-per-battle, with different effects depending on the situation including waking up a Pokemon from sleep or confusion (without wasting a turn), or causing them to dodge an attack when their health is critical. * Every Pokemon has a Bond Level with you in addition to regular Levels. Most Level Up Evolutions now evolve based on their Bond with you, which goes up as you fight with them. Higher Bonds also increase the EXP. gain, as well as grant small stat bonuses. These bonuses can be turned off in player vs. player matches, as can the Whistle, for the benefit of competitive play.

BW/BW2 Distro Thread (DAY 1/3)

My server is up for the next 7 hours, the DNS is (0 can be left as a space) Random distribution of Rare events, legendaries, shinies, Dream World abilities, good natures/IVs/egg moves, etc >Three-days event for the weekend! Today's distro is from Abra to Gothita! A few things: -To get your share, go to your ingame internet settings (in the main menu), or/and the machine settings if you're required to, select your main connection (the one you're normally using), go to DNS, chose "no", enter my DNS in the primary DNS field, SAVE, then you just have to go to the Global Trade Station (GTS) in the closest pokémon center (the lady on the upper right) WITH A FULL PARTY, follow the instruction, and you should get your pokémon automatically (it will appear in your pc, the closest box to your original box 1 if the latter is full). -You can enter the GTS again without having to come back to the pokémon center by chosing the "seek a pokémon" option after getting your loot. Do a random derp request, it will disconnect you and you'll be able to reconnect quickly. (Don't worry, the game save each time you receive a pokémon). Then just switch between male and female each time you do this step (it will prevent you from doing the same request twice in a row, which the GTS doesn't allow). -If you get a lot of errors (generally 13275 high traffic error) and blue screen, they're most probably due to high traffic. Keep trying! Some people get the "normal GTS" bug, we still need to find an efficient fix. Also, 3DS work just fine. -These threads are a great way to get your Join Avenue invaded by derp NPCs! Don't forget to change your DNS back to normal ("yes") when you're done, to prevent errors on both my side and yours when connecting to the official nintendo wi-fi.

Playing Volt White 2, and would like some team recommendations. Currently got: Pignite Azumarill Metang And probably picking up a Gastly. Anybody suggest a good Fly user? Was considering Pidgeot, but even with the buffs, it's a bit... Eh. A Grass type suggestion would be appreciated too. Also considering dropping Pignite, if I can find a good replacement. In game team/romhacks general?

Questions on how to raise your Pokémon? Ask them here and maybe you'll recieve a slightly correct and vague answer or another question. Poképhilia: best if kept at a minimum Circle Jerking if you feel like it. Zero: Cannot stop being a faggot, confirmed for canon. And no, we are not all Zoroarks in disguise.

Mr. XY Returns: List of Known New Pokemon + Gym Leaders

222 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: yNXtX.jpg]
First off, for those of you who screen capped the original thread, feel free to check my trip with that of the original. There have been multiple people posting as "Mr. XY' lately, but I have not posted since the original thread. Second of all, in the original thread I made this more clear, but my phrasing of the "main characters are named Jean and Jane, non-customizable" was meant to reference customizing their designs, not their names. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway, I have compiled a list of all the New Pokemon I know of, about 80 or so of the 99. Some of them I have only heard about from fellow co-workers and second-hand sources, while others I have seen myself. Mainly, there's a few "new line" Pokemon I have yet to see, or don't have much information on, so there are some gaps left to fill. With New Evolutions and Baby Pokemon, there are also quite a few of them I've yet to see for myself, yet I have heard which Pokemon are obtaining them. As I said before, this Generation has a large amount of New Evolutions and Baby Pokemon, while the New-Line Pokemon are less orthodox than previous Gens, bumping old Generational archetypes (there's no real early-bird, rodent, or bug this time around) in favor of mostly new, or underused, type combinations. There are a large amount of Old Pokemon present during the main campaign, the Regional Dex around 400 I believe including the New Pokemon. New Evolutions are, I believe, obtainable during the main campaign and not pushed towards the end like in Diamond and Pearl. On the note of Old Pokemon, Gen V Pokemon can be transfered over, although I do not know the exact mechanics of the transfer process.
