circa 2007-8, i uploaded a wallpaper on a french WP site. i come to check this gallery and login. then i get one message from the staff: one of my wallpapers had to be removed for legal issues against their will. (how so? all of my stuffs there are more or less OC and protected under parody for the cartoon stuff)
but a few months ago, a french graphic design company copyrighted and put a legal trademark on the Anonymous logo. i heard about it and never believed it was even possible... bit it's true.
"Early Flicker" is now the owner of the Anonymous logo and "We do not forgive, etc." sentence in this country.
the INPI, the legal trademark institute of Intellectual Property in France actually keeps the trademark on Anonymous's catchphrase and logo, since CreativeCommons is not officially recognized here as a proper copyright for, the author is Anonymous.
here's the legal registration and patent at the INPI's official site : http://bases-marques.inpi.fr/Typo3_INPI_Marques/getPdf?idObjet=3897981_FMARK-1%2CFMARK-2
..that's all. just felt like posting that story here
