It's in almost every scary story you read, the monster pops out, the light starts flickering, the TV goes haywire. Things begin to get strange. What they never tell you though is that the lights themselves are the danger. Ever since mandkind got it's hands on fire a curse has sprung up from certain hotspots of energy and information. You read about it in history books; the burning of the library of Alexandria, the Tuskeegee incident, Hiroshima, the Oklahoma building, 9/11, and most recently the Aurora theatre "shootings". Sometimes the curse is harder to spot. A kid goes missing. A truck vanishes into thin air. The bees start to disappear with no whereabouts on their bodies. At the end of the day what isn't covered up by the government on these happenings is written off as a natural scientific phenomena. In reality the lines aren't so blurry, Einstein knew it (They poisoned him) and then Hawkings figured it out (But he isn't going to talk). The lights are alive. So are the cogs and the flames and the steam. Inconsequencial in small numbers (You might get a small burn from a candle, or rip your finger off in a cog), but hungrily carnivorous in concentration. Alaska, for example, holds the record for the most disappearances in North America. Don't think Alaska would qualify as a hot spot? Here's the thing. All the drilling operations that "don't happen" in Alaska used to account for 30% of America's oil reserves, but as the feds found it harder to explain the disappearing factory workers and seemingly unnatural phenomena they decided to start buying from Iraq; because you see, an Iraqi death is easier to write off as a casualty of war than than some middle aged American prick riding in a bob cat...

There was a thread that 404'd earlier today that was dedicated to the ritual of "selling salt" to ghosts in graveyards. Because I'll be doing it tonight, I wanted to make a new thread to recap the information in the last one, as well as my own personal input. The way it's done is that one must go to the graveyard before midnight and wait there with a large amount of salt. About 15 kg is the norm (or a little bit over 33 lbs). They must be alone. Once the person goes into the graveyard or cemetery, they can not leave until dawn or there will be grave consequences. Some stories say it's haunting, others say death, and some just vaguely state that "something bad" will happen to you. One should never look at the face of a ghost's face, and it's recommended that as little as possible of them should be seen, expressed with the same consequences as the last. While there, the ghosts will walk up to the seller and outstretch their hands for the salt, and the seller will give it to them directly into their hands. Whether or not they give it in a type of baggie or not is up to them, and some have varying opinions on which should be preferred. However, it is extremely important that each ghost be given the exact same amount of salt. There was a woman in the last thread that was being haunted because she gave one ghost a tablespoon less than the rest. The ghosts will give the seller random objects (in some versions they are strips of paper called "hellnotes"), not money, as payment, which the seller must put into a bag of some sort out of their sight quickly. These items can vary widely, and some of them shared in the last thread were actually pretty funny, a few of the moreso being monopoly money and dog poop. One of the scarier being a clump of human hair. Once the seller leaves at dawn, they must return home and the entire way there, not look back to the graveyard.

Some of you may know this movie, some of you may not, if you haven't i suggest you do. Here is a link to a trailer/taster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsFE5pY6Ayg This movie gets to me in so many ways because there are different conclusions to it created by a wide range of people. The main conclusion is that the main character develops a serious multi personality disorder and creates someone in his head, that person is who he wants to be, what he wants to look like, what he wants to do, smoke, drink, fight, dont give a fuck about life. Others say that this is something paranormal, this is why i have come to /x/, what are your opinions if you have seen the movie, what do you think about possibilities of it being a multi personality disorder or it could be something e.g. from a different world or something that has passed from this world.

Alright, /x/. I've got something for you to chew on. I know an individual who has served as a FiSTer, and was deployed to the middle east for a time. While he was on leave, I struck up a conversation with him. He told me, that one out of maybe every ten or twenty men he shot at was white. He said that this fact stayed true for almost the entirety of his time in-country. European white. This individual has been one of my closest friends for years, I trust him with my life. So, /x/. I want you to figure it out, because I can't get into it myself.

Do you guys remember that scene in constantine where Keanu Reeves says cats exist half in our world and half in hell? As though a creature can evolve (or for our christian friends was intelligently designed by god) to exist simultaneously in what we perceive and it realms beyond or perception. So I come to you to ask what is the truth behind cats? They have been involved with humans for nearly 10,000 years. The ancient egyptions considered them sacred. The Japanese associated them with spirits of fortune and luck. Even the prophet mohammad had a favorite cat and "He is reported to have loved cats so much that "he would do without his cloak rather than disturb one that was sleeping on it." The norse god Frayja kept cats. During the dark ages cats were often feared as bad omens, even killed such as in the yves cat festival. So with this long history what is the truth behind cats?

Am I the only one getting tired of the general attitude here on /x/? Hear me out. Whether or not I believe in paranormal or supernatural shit or not is irrelevant. What I see here (and in almost every conceivable 'scary' setting, really) though always seems to run the same. >shit's normal >suddenly weird >pretend it's still normal >protagonist(s) encounter the spooky scary skeleton making shit weird >everything goes to Hell real fast >panic and terror in the streets >death and/or madness >end >typically a cliffhanger In a VERY loose and VERY generalizing nutshell, this is the core of pretty much every scary story in movies, stories, creepypasta, etc.. Basically no matter what category the supernatural/paranormal falls into: aliens, demons, ghosts, shadow people, [REDACTED], there always seem to be a few key links. When it's encountered, shit is always cold and/or dark. Whoever or whatever is encountered, there's pretty much zero communication with beyond the 'good guys' running and screaming and the big bad entity maybe growling or making annoying loud fucking screechy staticky noise. And the only expression that can be derived from this incomprehensible and potentially superhuman being? Eyes full of pain and hatred, claws and teeth that thirst for blood, an absolute disdain for life and/or light... Honestly I'm just sick of it. I get how fear works. People don't understand shit, so they automatically brand what they don't understand as either bad or, at the least, a threat. And if it's bad/threatening to them, then they must be bad/threatening to it as well or else they'd just be being xenophobic assholes for no reason. So maybe this is just complaining, or maybe I'm just looking for some alternative creepy. TL;DR: The only bro-tier paranormal being I've ever heard of was Ignatius the Bellkeeper. Why is every other supernatural being in popular fiction a sadistic and/or pretentious asshole?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BosZxa1bYcE Issei Sagawa murdered an innocent woman and spent three days eating her flesh. Due to loopholes in the law, Issei is a free man to this day. On the afternoon of June 13, 1981, a Japanese man named Issei Sagawa walked to the Bois de Boulogne, a park on the outskirts of Paris, carrying two suitcases. The contents of those suitcases, to the lament of a nearby jogger, was the dismembered body of a fellow student -- a Dutch woman named Renée Hartevelt, whom Sagawa had shot three days prior and had spent the days since eating various parts of her body. He was soon arrested. According to reports, Issei uttered, "I killed her to eat her flesh," when they raided his home, whereupon they found bits of Renne still in his fridge. Sagawa was declared insane and unfit for trial and was institutionalized in Paris. His incarceration was to be short, however, as the French public soon grew weary of their hard-earned francs going to support this evil woman-eater, and Issei was promptly deported. Herein followed a bizarre and seemingly too convenient set of legal loopholes and psychiatric reports that led doctors in Japan declaring him "sane, but evil." On August 12, 1986, Sagawa checked himself out of Tokyo's Matsuzawa Psychiatric hospital, and has been a free man ever since.

in advance i'm going to apologize because i've never been very good at giving clear points well i just had a thought and thought i'd ask a question when i think i have two different ways of thinking i call the first one my conciseness and the second one my sub conciseness thinking the first one is where its just a voice in my head i control this completely its not that surprising i think this is how most people think the second one is the best i can describe it as is like a charge of electricity going through my head. and it has information in it. the best i can do is give examples of what it does. if im thinking of a long statement sometimes this will go through and ill have thought everything i was going to think out just faster. if i was thinking out a sentence as "this is going to be a long sentence and...... end of sentence" some part in there that electric will go and i'll know what im going to say but i have to like decode it now this all sounds stupid but i had to share sometime to just ask is this the normal way to think? also about this my conciesness mind is stupid but my sub is what makes me seem smarter than a monkey. if im thinking hard about something it throws me a cookie sometimes and gives me the answer in that coded language pic not related its just /x/ related

Them. The other. If a chill ran down your spine and you looked over your shoulder you may know, you may have seen them. There is hope. We hunt them back. The world needs to know what lives in the woods right on their back door. This is a subject of much debate among us in truth, so i will keep the details sparse to keep from upsetting my fellow guardians, but watch the woods, watch your children, and when the sun sets, stay inside. We will protect you if we can. I am posting here to attempt to reach out to fellow hunters of Them in North Amer. Our "Local" group covers most of LA-florida but our numbers are not quite up to the task of keeping them in check and missing are on the rise. This is a general call of aid in the south east united states. The normal rules of meeting houses apply, and any aid we receive, be it in manpower, or arms, would be put to good use. Hold the line brothers. Hold back the dark.
