I'm 36 years old, live in NYC. I had a very strange (to say the least) experience at the age of 15. Here goes.
It is around 6pm... laying in my bed, I begin to doze off.
>I begin hearing digital sounds. Kind of like the sound you would hear if you've ever called a fax machine # by mistake.
>This sound wakes me up 3 or 4 times. I ignore it and try to go back to sleep, but it persists.
>I eventually do fall asleep, and must have turned over onto my stomach at some point.
>I wake up to the sound of high pitched laughter and screeching sounds.
>I can't move... sleep paralysis effect, but I AM NOT ASLEEP.
>I'm scared shitless.
>The high pitched voices begin laughing (I assume at me), in an almost demonic way.
>I imagine there to be 2-3 of them.
>Suddenly, a deeper, more authoritarian voice shouts something I did not understand. It was 1-2 short words, I assume he/it had given them a command to "shut up" because they immediately did. I swear they gasped in fear at what he said too. He was an imposing figure.
>I try desperately to get up, but can't move. I try to call out to my mother and father but can only open my mouth to let out gasps of air. I'm terrified.
>I close my eyes and begin to see images, some of which I do not remember clearly and may or may not be irrelevant.
>I see under my desk (who knows why).
>I see a clear image of a severed head that looks like the flesh had been melted in some way, one eye falling out... little blood.
>The deep voice begins speaking, once again in a language I could not understand.
>I see an image of a large muscular figure holding long glowing object which I imagined to be a "flaming sword" at the time. I was a kid after all.
>He/it continued to speak as it plunged the object into the center of my back. I felt it... it burned, but I liked the burn.
>I awoke feeling like I was given a gift. I felt special... "chosen".
The experience and the presence of this entity still haunts me to this day.

Strange Real Life Events/Places that involve death

I'm not entirely sure how to articulate this so I guess I'll just start. I'm extraordinarily fascinated by events and places that are somehow linked to death. This isn't an "edgy" thing, it's really just an odd feeling that I get when I think about them. Not necessarily bad. Maybe curiosity about what thoughts were going through their minds before they died, or what led them to that point? It's almost a feeling of nostalgia. This is really the first time I've opened up about this, because I don't need people thinking I'm homicidal or suicidal. I'd just like to see what /x/ thinks.
I'd like to start with Aokigahara Forest aka "Suicide Forest" in Japan. If you're unfamiliar, this video sums it up very well. It makes me wonder, why this forest? Why is suicide such a prevalent phenomenon in Japanese culture?
Please feel free to share thoughts or strange occurrences of death and/or suicide in this thread.

Hey fellow robots! (and other boards.) I made this thread yesterday and it was pretty popular. So drop in, share a story or pic and if you're close to the 44077 area and want to explore with us, leave an email!
I also saw quite a few people that were urbex virgins that wanted to start doing it but weren't sure how to. That got me thinking. My friend and I have been pursuing this hobby since we were around 11 years old. We are 22 now and still going strong! We talked it over and we decided that we want a solid crew of likeminded people to urban explore with us.
We know of dozens and dozens of places that we have explored already and hundreds more that we haven't! So to get this rolling, we are looking for people 18+ (Most of our treks take place in the middle of the night and the last thing we need is someone underage getting busted for curfew.) You have to be in shape. We are not looking for 300 pound spergs. I'm not trying to offend anyone here, it's just that we hike for miles and miles in pretty rough terrain to get where we are going and I know overweight people probably can't do that. Another must is that you know the risks or urban exploration.
Methheads/cops/getting hurt on site/tresspassing are some of the dangers. I personally have never had issue with any police and have never seen any homeless people/methheads on site.
We are located in the 44077 area of Painesville, Ohio and do most of our exploration within 80 miles with some exceptions. So if you really want to start urban exploring and you fit the criteria and live close, please fill this out.
>Email address (throwaways are fine, I just need to be able to contact you.
And that's it! Urban exploration is one of the best hobbies out there for the modern day explorer. You get to go to places that haven't had human contact in a long time. You learn some history about the places you go. I really look forward to hearing from you guys! Hopefully we can get a r9k urbex group going!
