AKA Reality Glitch thread. I tried to post in the other one, but apparently it got pruned.
My own personal unexplained "slip":
In December of 2001 the death of Osama Bin Laden was announced on Fox News by Bill O'Reilly. It was renal failure. For years I wondered if I hallucinated it until I met other people, some in America, some in Britain and other european countries, that assured me that they heard about it, too.

Post your creepy driving stories. Driving at night or day, see/ hear something, car is somewhere where it shouldn't be, etc. I'll start:
>be a year ago
>be like 11 at night, pitch black, no moon
>I am driving my three friends to one of their house
>lives out of town, never took him home, in an area that I have never been before, I'll probably get lost, but do anyways
>starts telling stories about how messed up the area is: Local myth about goatman nearby, rabid dogs
just stare at you as you drive by with blood dripping from their teeth, an abandoned house that has one light on all of the time, ghosts haunting that road, smelling smoke and hearing whispers (I guess from a house fire many years ago) etc.
>drop them off, turn around to go home, spooked, so turn off radio, go slow, and try to chill
>start hearing noises in the car with me, think I see things in the brush
>get lost because area is weird
>I swear there is whispering in the way back of my car (driving an SUV)
>nope.tiff the fuck outa there, just to a main road
>all of the sudden, I am just in familiar area again, after my phone was not working trying to call the friend to ask him where I was and how to get out I know it is not creepy, but the best I have. What are yours?

Back in the Summer 1997, a mysterious corpse was exhibited at a local faire in Bourganeuf (Borgon Nuòu), in the Lemosin region of France. Some people have tried to claim it as a hoax, even stepping forward to claim credit for it, but if it was a hoax it was a damned good one; nobody since has been able to produce the body or recreate the results. It also smelled like rotting flesh, a detail many reports leave out.
It was quite impressive too, topping out somewhere around 8'5", with leathery skin and matted hair kind of like a gorilla. There weren't any stitches or similar marks visible, but it was lying on its back so its possible they were there. It also had a very obvious male genitalia. And the smell, as I mentioned before.
The propritors gave slightly differing accounts of the body's origins each day. Most seemed to revolve around it originating in Tibet, where it was killed by Tantric monks and preserved in their monastery. When the Chinese invaded their country, the Tibetans hid it, and eventually smuggled it out of the country through an unnamed German scientist. Ultimately it wound up somewhere in the SW of France.
Hominologist Christian le Noël investigated it and believed it to be real. Unfortunately, nobody has ever come forward to reveal it even all these years later, excluding people who CLAIM it was their hoax but as I said before, they cannot produce any corroborating evidence. All we have are four photographs taken by a woman working for a local newspaper...
