There was a website i saw a few years back that was possibly just one of those scary puzzle sites, but disguised as what appeared to be a website for some kind of cosmetics industry or something. The main screen was a flash of a girl by a lake, staring into it, pretty, pretty nice graphics, but if you stayed on the page long enough the girls image would change and become distorted over time, become more and more demonic. I never knew what exactly it was or remember what the website was, but i do know it was when R.A.N.D.O.M.COM was up.

buddhism & anatta [no-self]

a few weeks ago someone here recommended perez-remon books on buddhism for an alternate view of anatta as an upanishadic/vedantic-like via negativa way of reaching the true self. is that /x/er around today? i have read through the author's book "self and non-self in early buddhism" and remain unimpressed by the view, which is not uncommon, that the buddha was not teaching anatta 'all the way' but merely using it as an expedient device for awakening to the true self. for those unfamiliar with the peculiar buddhist philosophy of anatta / sunyata, this subject may seem strange, however if it appeals to you in some way i highly recommend pursuing this line of thought intensely, it is very rewarding. if the buddha was actually using anatta as a via negativa expedient means of awakening to the true self beyond all transient phenomena, it would be highly unlikely that the first buddhist writings would contain such a developed philosophy of insubstantiality that never hints at a true, permanent, transcendental self at all, other than a few vague verses which seem to be the only sources the 'secret self' scholars can find to support their theory. in fact, i find it unlikely that buddhism would have ever emerged as a distinct religion with its own unique philosophy if it were not for the buddha actually teaching complete anatta theory, or in other words, the view that all phenomena including everything we conventionally call ourselves or self such as the body or mind or consciousness, are impermanent and insubstantial, without any self-essence or ultimate reality. buddhism, in my view, presents a complete antithesis to atmavaada or the traditions which believe in a transcendental, permanent, essential self. incidentally, anatta theory and anatta logic are not only useful for deconstructing the notion of self but also god or an eternal creator. if the buddha really taught a 'secret self', how would buddhism ever be distinct from jainism? cont.

About six months back I tried to give you guys access to my entire occult collection, but shit didn't work out the way I wanted it too. Since I've been collecting texts for a long while, I decided to upload almost the ENTIRETY of my digital occult library onto MEGA, which includes The Occult Carrot, which I've revised, edited, and condensed from 50 folders, ranging all the way from the Astron Argon to Yoga! This represents (almost) my entire corpus of personal reference material. The Various folder has over a gig of information with two versions the actual Book of Shadows (with Initiation rituals), and various Grimories that didn't make it into the Grimorie folder. There's a complete breakdown of Freemasonry, to a revised and expanded A.'.A.'. folder complete with texts that have never appeared in any other single source including some lineage specific documents. The Left Hand Path folder contains O9A and Temple of Set documents (including the entire Scroll of Set and most of the Crystal Tablets + Set, God of Confusion). The Yoga file contains a number of documents pertaining to Saivism. Also included is a full file on Chaos Magick, with everything from Antero Alli to Spare to Wilson. That's over 30 folders full of occulty bullshit and almost 5 gigs of content spanning across a multitude of traditions. Really, there's too much there to outline here. All of it COMPLETELY free, without having to hassle with Torrent files. Since some of the more popular sites for occult torrents have been shut down (Demonoid, I'm looking at you), I'm hoping this repository will be a permanent replacement for many of the torrent files and P2P files that have gone the way of the Dodo...as a matter of fact there was a scare about two years back that the Occult Carrot was lost forever. https://mega.co.nz/#F!ARBw0ZaR!fl307jRa_ltEFOQ7ECxwLg Happy reading, /x/!

I'm having so much fun on /x/ right now in this thread: >>12728376 So in gratitude, I've decided I'll share some of my favorite music playlists and individual pieces for those interested. European Folk music primarily, all /x/ related too. For they sing of things that have nearly been lost in our collective memory. I'll even see about tracking down info and lyrics for different songs. Checking the "Show More" tab in Youtube can be rewarding as well. If you have music that you consider to be similarly evocative and connected with such themes, I welcome you to share it as well. Archive of thread: http://archive.4plebs.org/x/thread/12728376/#reply Some may well accuse me of spamming the thread, however, I am not selling anything. My goal is to have fun while encouraging others to consider some profound information. Therefore, I consider it fair to state that I am promoting this thread. First, Faun's Lupercalia, I consider it fitting to regard it as a Martian Fanfare: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swSFcjBjYmQ lyrics: "Ipse Deus Velox Discurrere Gaudet In Altis Montibus, Et Subitas Concipit Ipse Fugas: Ipse Deus Nudus Nudos Iubet Ire Ministros; Nec Satis Ad Cursus Commoda Vestis Erit." Explanation and translation from the comments: >>The lyrics are from Ovid's "Fausti" (a religious calendar) it's roughly v. 285 The Feast is called Lupercalia and is for the 15th of february. The lyrics are actually an answer to a question as to why the Luperci (priests) run around partially nude and make sounds like animals, Ovid replies with the lyrics of this song. The translation from your booklet is quite accurate. Thank you for uploading this beautiful piece of music :) >>"It gives pleasure to the god himself, to run quickly on high mountains; he himself suddenly turns to flee. Naked himself, he commands his servants to go naked as well, because it is not comfortable to run in a robe"

I originally posted it on /pol/ because I think they wear their tinfoil hats better than you guys and are less annoying, but I thought you might enjoy this anyways. Did anyone hear about the weird ass weather radar signature that popped up over Redstone Arsenal in Alabama yesterday and want to tinfoil hat about it? The story is that a small blip of what appeared to be severe thunderstorms on the radar appeared out of nowhere over the Arsenal and then spread out over an 10 mile diameter. Nobody knows what the fuck it was they only know that Redstone Arsenal is used for military testing and missile development.
